Homework Haven
This program is to assist children ages 6-12 years with
their homework. Regular times are Mon-Fri 3-4pm,
with guided reading on Wednesdays.
Guided Reading is a program for children ages 6-12 to
help build reading skills.
Elder Abuse Awareness Day
Elder Abuse Awareness Day is Wednesday June 15,
2016.
Exploits Community Centre will be hosting a lunch
and learn from 11:30am to 1pm.
Topic: Early signs of Dementia/Alzheimer’s
Space is limited; please call the centre to register
Youth Nights
Youth nights are every Tuesday and
Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
This is a free program; however, you must be
registered.
SENIORS 50+
Children’s Creative Reading Week
Exploits Community Centre is offering a fun filled week of reading activities for children in grades 1 to 6.
This will take place from June 13 to June 17 from 3pm to 4pm.
Please call the centre to register your child for this program.
Youth tutoring
We are offering tutoring for the Youth from grades 7 to
12, to assist with exams completion of assignments, or
where help is needed; this will take place on
Tuesday &Wednesday evenings on the following dates:
June 7th, 8th and June 14th, 15th
Please register for this program!

We have a variety of youth activities happening this
spring!
We have personal grooming techniques, outdoor
fitness, movie night and Year end Barbeque!

The Exploits Community Centre is offering a Driver
Permit Preparation Workshop; they will take place
April 7 and 14 at 4 pm to 5pm.
If you are 16 years or older and would like to
attend this workshop and prepare for your driver’s
permit, please call 489-2141 to register.
Job Club
The Exploits Community Centre is introducing a Job Club. This will assist individuals with:
Job search skills,
Online job applications
Developing a resume and cover letter
Interview skills
And much more!!
This is a 4 week program and will start on Wednesday, April 13 at 1:30pm to 3pm, please call the

Students, need a resume for a summer job?
We will be hosting resume building workshops and
job search skills to assist in helping find the perfect
summer job!
This will be held every Tuesday from 4pm to 5pm,
starting May 17 to June 7
Summer Jobs
We hire students for summer employment, please drop off your resume by June 7th.
Family Resource Centre
The Family Resource Centre, located upstairs in the Exploits Community Centre, offers the Healthy Baby
Club on Monday from 10am to 11:30am. They also offer Roaming Readers, a program where a book bag
of fun activities is dropped off on a weekly basis. For further information please call 489-8940.
Block Party
The Exploits Community Centre will be hosting its
Annual Block Party on
Saturday June 11
11am to 2pm. There will be food, games, prizes, and much more!
Grab the kids and come on out and have some fun!

Summer Fun Camp
The Exploits Community Centre is hosting another
fun filled summer camp.
Registration will take place on the following dates:
Saturday June 11 during the Block Party
June 13, 16 and 17, registration will be held from
9am to 11:30am
June 14 and 15, registration will be held from
1pm to 4pm.
This will be a full day Summer Camp, from
10am to 4pm,
Nutritious meals and snacks included.
Transportation may be available to those who
qualify.
Priority will be given to NL Housing tenants
SMOKING CESSATION Want to Quit Smoking? Need Help?
We will be offering a 4 week smoking cessation program in partnership with Central Health for those who want to live a smoke free lifestyle. This program will take place in
April with times and Dates to be announced! Please register, space is limited!!
Family Supper
Exploits Community Centre will be hosting our Free
monthly family tenant suppers on
April 20th and May 18th
4:30pm-6:00pm
This event is for NL Housing Tenants only
YOU MUST REGISTER TO ATTEND!!
The Jumpstart program helps financially
disadvantaged children ages (4-18) to participate in
organized sports and recreation by covering
registration, equipment and or transportation cost.
Applications can be picked up at the Exploits
Community Centre on 30 Bartle Place.
