Significance of Vaikunta Ekadasi – Uttara Dwara Darsanam
Uttara means north and Dwara means gate or entrance. Temples all over the world open the entrance on northern side (Uttara Dwaram). According to a boon granted by Sri Maha Vishnu, anyone passing through this entrance with true devotion will reach Vaikunta. Vaikunta Ekadasi is also known as Mukkoti Ekadasi. Mukkoti literally means three crores; it is believed that on this sacred day of Vaikunta Ekadasi, Lord Brahma along with the 3 crore Gods will seek Darsanam of the Lord Vishnu at His abode Vaikunta during Arunodaya Kaalam.
