Presentation Night For those of you new to the traditions of a Millthorpe presentation night, we start with the formal proceedings at 6.30pm. Students wear their full, formal school uniform for this section. Lots of awards are presented to the children. We then have a short intermission while students prepare for the whole-school performance. Children change into costumes during intermission, so it is important that school clothes are labelled on the night. We then entertain you with a whole school performance. Everyone is involved, and this year we have a special “live” treat for you. Older stu-dents (and young ones with stamina) stay to see the year 6 video, and the evening is complete by approximately 9.30pm.
We pride ourselves on a very high attendance rate on presentation night …. See you tomorrow for our night of nights!
Carols by Candlelight Wednesday 19th December (students last day) is ear-marked for a Community Carols event, at Redmond Oval, from 6.30pm. The Carillion Show Band and Jason and Chloe Roweth will be providing the music, also the ice-cream and cof-fee man are booked, and if the weather is cold (like last year) we will hold the Carols in the school hall. There are battery candles for sale—$3 each. We had a great night last year, keep the evening free for some community singalongs. Spread the word, pack a chair, and I’ll see you at Carols night.

2013 Term 1
P & C Presidents Report Week 10 Thank you to all the parents who attended last week’s P&C meeting. It was great to have such a good roll up. We were able to make some major decisions regarding blinds for all the demountables and work to be done on the grounds over the Christmas break including a watering system for the play-ground.
We also made the decision to run “Pix-In-The-Stix” again on the 22nd February next year at Redmond oval. Put that date in your diary and bring a picnic blanket and the family. The movie for the night will be the Disney animated movie, “Brave”.
It was confirmed that there will be 10 classes next year. It also looks like we have secured the new demountable classroom for next year to be placed at the end of the row facing the new hall. However, it probably, won’t be here in time for the beginning of term 1 so one class will probably start the year in the craft room until it arrives.
The ramp for the stage in the hall arrived this week. Thanks to the dads who helped to move it after the infants assembly and thanks to Graeme and Sally who stayed late on Monday night to assemble it so that it can be used tomorrow night at Presentation night. Bathurst Light and Sound also installed our new permanent data projector in the hall, just in time for presentation night. Thanks also to Geoff Bottom and IGA Bathurst for the donation of a BBQ to the school for use at the Markets and other school functions.
Our first P&C meeting for next year will be on Wednesday 13th February at 6.30pm in the school li-brary.
Andrew.
