Colourfully cool winter After an unpredictable wet and cool Sydney summer I flew to the American west coast mid February to enjoy another Northern Winter. Not much cooler in the air but the knitting was hotting up! From Tacoma to Santa Clara and down to Long Beach, I am having a great time meeting new knitters and catching up with everyone who makes it so much fun 'knitting in

America'.

With a couple of days of Stitches West to go, there has been something for everyone: classes, market floors, lectures and fashion parades. I know I keep saying it, but if you ever get the chance to go to an American knitting or craft event like Stitches or Madrona

Fiber Festival, just go! You'll remember the friends, the ideas and the places forever.

My Digit Tabard (above left) is Intarsia gone textural! There's 3 stunning kit colourways: Sands, Amber and Ocean

Coco Throw in Wool & Mohair, and from Swing, Swagger, Drape, the gorgeous Metro Swagger (mid-right). Digit Tabard (left) gives you a bit of everything to knit, and my Mitre Vee Capelet (right) is the ultimate chameleonThrow it, cape it or shawl it, wraps are a great knitting project combining texture and colour. And as a finished piece, there's nothing better to beat the cool especially when the weather catches you out. Worn to front, back, sideways or sometimes even upside down, my designs are fun to knit and wear. They always look great and suit every body, every accessory and every occassion, Hot/cold - off/on... indoor/outdoor - off/on... drinks/dinner - on/off...that's a wrap! Like the unpredictable weather, colours this winter are at two extremes: East Coast/West Coast. You can choose to dress in neutrals and add a splash of colour with a bag or a wrap, or flip it and go for bold and bright with a black or charcoal bag or wrap!

Boxes Stepped Capelet (grey) Boxes Vee Shawl (in Red) great knitting and stunning to wear.Signatur capes and shawls actually fit, and can be worn in so many ways! They combine colour and texture and have great knitted-on fringes. You can accentuate or de-accentuate shape, drape the neck or wrap it snug, and when you pin your Boxes Vee Shawl sideways it shapes up as a great wind breaker and a stunning statement.
