From the Desk of the DOM: In his devotional book From This Verse, Robert J. Morgan recounts the following story. I once read of a man in Dundee, Scotland, who was confined to bed for forty years, having broken his neck in a fall at age fifteen. But his spirit remained unbroken, and his cheer and courage so inspired people that he enjoyed a constant stream of guests. One day a visitor asked him, “Doesn’t Satan ever tempt you to doubt God?”
“Oh, yes,” replied the man. “He does try to tempt me. I lie here and see my old schoolmates driving along in their carriages and Satan whispers, ‘If God is so good, why does He keep you here all these years? Why did he permit your neck to be broken?’ ”
“What do you do when Satan whispers those things?” asked the guest.
“Ah,” replied the invalid, “I take him to Calvary, show him Christ, and point to those deep wounds, and say, ‘You see, he does love me.’ And Satan has no answer to that. He flees every time.”
What an excellent means of following James’ instruction found in James 4:7, don’t you think?
Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Natasha from Russia was born with a short neck due to radiation from the
Chernobyl accident. She was sent to an orphanage where she received her
first gift ever: a shoe box. Inside was a colorful children’s tract written in
English. She couldn’t read it, but kept it for years. For medical treatments,
she came to America where she learned to read English. She read the tract and it was
helpful in her decision to accept Christ as Savior at VBS.
After I read her testimony, I decided to buy children’s tracts to put in shoe boxes for older
kids. I’ll pray that they can read the tracts and will be saved. Check out Shoe Box Stories
at Operation Christmas Child to learn more. Kids will receive New Testaments in their
language after they take the Bible study offered to them. --Dolores White-Kiser

Ahoy from LTBRM!
The summer began by going to ACC where we spoke to many churches
about our ministry, and had many request more information. So far this
summer we have had two mission groups come out. One church did repairs
to Grace Indian’s church building and assisted with their VBS. Another
worked with the Madill Girls’ Home. We have been blessed by the groups that have come
out this year and are excited about the work that has been done. As summer comes to a
close, remember we are open throughout the year, so if you would like to have a retreat or
other church event give us a call! Pete Richards 580-579-1671
From the BBA Prayer Ministry Team Leader Continuing our subject of "Guaranteed Answers to Prayer" lets look at John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Note that the promises and results are conditional: " If ye abide in me...." Note also that the words of Christ must abide in the believer. The thought is that a believer must take the Words of Christ and... study and learn them. Have his thoughts and desires controlled by them. Be motivated and controlled by them. Without taking a lot of space, in a nutshell, this is it! God's promise, apply and you will see your prayer life explode. Continue to pray for all summer activities, Pray for Bro. Tim and Chloe as they serve our association. In His Grip, Bro. Anthony
