. K. Rowlings 7-part
story, stolen from the
real life occurrences
of Harry Potter and
his friends written for
the Muggle world,
has ay cm t a d. Da-iel Radcliffe, who portrayed as
the wiarding worlds Harry Pot-
ter, alongside with Emma Wat-son, Rupert Grint, and Matthew
Lewis, are off on their own ad-
ventures in their Muggle world.
After Rowling made a for-
tune from Harry Potters story,
this rogue witch decided to write
her own content. Recently, she
released a story based on class
and other social tensions. The
Casual Vacancy is Rowlings
rst wrk sic sh st Pt-trs if stry t s as a ctibk t Mggs. Th bk wasreleased the Sept. 27, 2012.
As for the Muggles whoportrayed Potter and his friends,
their careers are far from coming
to an end. Their success, due to
th rg witch, startd ad sky-rcktd with th Harry Pttrsris, bt w th cast is f-ing their careers and moving on
from the wiarding world.
Going after their dreams,
th cast has mad a mark i thircareer but it is only the begin-
ig fr thm. Dai Radciff,Emma Watson, Rupert Grint,
and Matthew Lewis are no lon-ger part of the Harry Potter cast
but are separately succeeding in
Hollywood.
Dai Radciff, wh wasHarry Potter in the copied and
stolen series, stars in the Muggle
world on Broadway as the lead
in a musical titled, How to Suc-
ceed in Business without Really
Trying. He was also the star in a
m titd Th Woman in Black, which was released the 3rd of
February in 2012. Radcliffes
career seemed to only improve
aftr mimickig r vry wPotter.
Emma Watson, who played
Hrmi Gragr, th kw-it-all and frumpy friend of Potter,
is doing as well as Radcliffe. She
is starrig i th w m adap-tation ofThe Perks of Being a Wall
Flowerbased on the novel by Ste-
ph Chbsky. Additiay, shis studying abroad in Oford.
Watson wishes to complete her
senior year at Brown University.
Muggle-born Rupert Grint
played Ronald Weasley, the gin-
ger with the hand-me-down
robes. Grints success now lies
withi a WWII m, Comrade, about British and German sol-
diers that are stranded in the
Norwegian wilderness and are
frcd t wrk with ach thrin order to survive. Further-
more, Grint is to star in the
biopic of Eddie the EagleEdwards, who was an Olympic
ski jmpr wh bcam a Brit-ish fk hr i th 1988 WitrOlympics.
The rest of the cast, such
as Matthew Lewis who played
Neville Longbottom, have re-
ceived scripts for various plays,
decided to return to college, or
have dabbled in television and
documentary writing and pro-
duction.
These Muggles who have
startd thir carr by mimick-
ing the life of Potter, Granger,Weasley, and the rest of the
wiarding world, which the
Muggles are taught to believe is
cti, ar w grat actrs adperformers with a bright future
ahead of them. As for Rowling,
she now writes using her own
content that is not stolen from
our world. One critic, Carmela
Ciuraru of the San Francisco
Chronicle, states that The Ca-
sual Vacancy is no masterpiece,
but it is a good escape. Even in
the absence of a certain boy wi-
ard, the novel succeeds as a so-called page-turner.
Rowling and the cast of
Pttr ms hav brght thseven-part story of Harry Potter
to life in the Muggle world and
now succeed on their own. It is
curious to wonder how Rowl-
ings career would have been if
she did not steal Potters story.
You are welcome, Rowling.

us who have been forever im-

credible things together. We have learned
life-altering and forever memorable les-
sons from the golden trio, and all of
the other characters we encountered
r jrys thrgh th bks.As I k back ths bks, I
continue to recognie more themes, and
how much they have impacted not only
my life, but the lives of my entire gen-eration. Through these novels, we have
learned about the power of love and the
importance of friendship and bravery.
We have learned about the corruption
that power brings, that arrogance can be
a downfall, and to have a healthy amount
of distrust to authority and the rules.
Hermione shows us the importance of
qaity thrgh hr ght fr hs-elves. Shes a strong, intelligent female
role-model who must face her own un-

th sigicac f v ad fridship, which can overcome all else, and that
we are what we choose to become more
than the situation we are brought into.
The Harry Potter series has inspired
us to create parody musicals and the-

drivd frm r kwdg f yrworld, Youtube comedy puppet shows,
conventions that bring thousands of
fans together, Muggle Quidditch teams,
documentaries, college classes, and

life-changing impacts for innumerable
Muggles. It has created a new genera-

that Harry Potter has made, to me, is in
the Harry Potter Alliance (HPA). The

IMAGeS: SHelBY eMleY, GRYFFInDoR 16On Oct. 14, 2012, Griffins Quidditch traveled to the University of Maryland
(UMD) at College park and competed in a 16-team tournament. The first match
pitted the Griffins against the University of Virginia Whomping Willows. Un-
fortunately, the Griffins were defeated, but kept energetic as they competedagainst Dumbledores Army, a mercenary team and narrowly lost by the op-
ponents snatch. Last in their pool was Johns Hopkins University Quidditch to
whom the Griffins lost, despite CHCs snatch. After rankings, the Griffins were
pitted against U Virginia again, but walked away the victors. Moving on, they
faced Johns Jopkins again, and put up a good fight despite losing. Overall, the Griffins were proud to have competed at UMD and left in good spirits. Theultimate victor of the tournament was UMD who had defeated the Pennsylva-
nia State University in the final match. Top left, Cristina Diaz 14 , who was
injured before going to UMD coached the team for the day. Middle right, Lanie
Duff 16, chaser, stares down a John Hopkins beater. Bottom right, Steph Reif
13, dodges a chaser from Dumbledores Army. Bottom left, the team is pic-
tured with Big Griff and driver Frank Dealy before returning to Chestnut Hill.

Could you de-
tail your nding
of Nargles lastyear in Central Europe?
Finding the Nargles was
an amaing eperience.
Its brilliant having one
of your lifes dreams re-
alied. My husband, Rolf, and I
were out on one of our epe-
ditis. W wr takig thrwks t k fr th MFrg, actay. Sm wto the moon and brought a bag
f thm back as prf bt thyescaped him when he landed.
ufrtaty, w didt dany Moon Frogs but it waswdrf t ay s smNargles. The little creatures are
etremely mischievous. In fact,
thats how I was eventually able
t d thm. Whi w wrcamping on our epedition,
w tic thigs wd jst gmissing at odd times and they
would show up in the strang-
est places. One night, all of
our shoes went missing and we
found them three days later tied
together sitting on a tree stump.
I began to suspect Nargles tobe the culprits when I noticed
there was a fairly large amount
of mistletoe in the area. Nar-
gs ar kw t ifst mist-toe. After noticing this, I put a
trackig charm sm f myitems in hopes they would steal
them. When they did, all we had
to do was follow the spell. Rolf
and I were so happy. Having
long been thought to be etinct,
this was a wonderful discovery.
What compelled you
to go into the feldof Magizoology?
The summer before my
fth yar, my fathr adI went to Sweden to at-
tmpt t d a Crmp-Hrd Srkack. My fathr
was so sure they eisted. He
once even acquired an erum-
pent horn believing it to be the
horn of a Crumple-Horned
Srkack. It was sf thgh,it helped Harry Potter and his
friends when it was hit by an er-
rant spell, when my father tried
t mak a da with Vdmrtby echanging them for me.
Which I dont condone by theway but I understand my fa-
thers reasoning. However, I do
consider them to be very good
friends and it was not right for
him t giv thm p ik that.
Could you tell us a
little about your up-
bringing, and your
father, Xenophilius Lovegood,
publisher of The Quibbler?
Well, sometimes things
wr a itt difct as
I didnt have a mother.She died when I was
i. Sh ray jyd tryignew, eperimental spells. One
of them, unfortunately, went
horribly wrong; it was awful.
Dad aways did his bst thgh.H wd tak m a t fadvtrs t k fr cratrsh kw xistd. W spt a tf tim tryig t d th Crm-p-Hrd Srkack. I raybelieved everything he told me
back th. As I gt dr, I ra-ied he wasnt always right and
I accepted that the Crumple-Hrd Srkack dst x-ist. Ad y watd t kwabout The Quibbler? Well, its
much more trustworthy than
th Daiy Prpht. Sic Dadwas th ditr, I kw v-rythig mst b tr ikths is td by Rita Sktr.
The Quibbler always offered
full support to Harry Potter.
Where do you plan
your next adven-
ture?
Rolf and I are cur-
rently planning a trip
t Sctad t kfr th Bd-Sck-
ig Bgbar. My rst yar atHogwarts, Hagrid mentioned
thm thikig that thy hadkid tw rstrs. It actayturned out to be Ginny Weas-
ley. She was possessed by Tom
Riddles diary at the time so it
wasnt really her fault. I really
ik Giy Wasy; shs scha kid gir. Im vry gad sh
and Harry Potter got married;
they had such a lovely wedding.
Do you believe thatthere are many un-
discovered magi-
cal creatures in the world?
Of course there are
many undiscovered
magical creatures.
Not all creatures are
meant to be discovered or
thy jst dt wat t bfd. W vr kw athe creatures in the world.
Does the presence
of Muggles makeit more difcult
to care for these creatures?
Not at all. Muggles only
see what they want to
see. Also, there is a lot
of space all over the
world where magical crea-
trs ca b kpt safy awayfrom the Muggle population.
I dt thik w vr rayhave a problem with Muggles.
Would you like
to share anythingabout your per-
sonal life with The Grifn?
Well, when at Hog-
warts, I was sor ted into
Ravenclaw. Ive always
been very happy about
that. Rowena Ravenclaw is
somewhat of a hero of mine.
She was a very smart woman.
She once said, Wit beyond
measure is a mans greatest
treasure. I do very much be-
iv that. I d jy paitig,
also. At my childhood home, before it was destroyed by the
erumpent horn, I had painted
my friends on the ceiling. It
had Ron, Hermione, Neville,
Harry, ad Giy. Did I m-tion how happy I am that they
are married? They even gave
their little girl the middle name
Luna. I was very touched.
Im married now to Rolf Sca-
mander, hes also a wiarding
naturalist. We have two sons
named Lorcan and Lysander.
