The MINNI Project
A 3 year project for the development of a National Integrated Modelling System (closing in mid 2006)
Carried out under the leadership of ENEA in cooperation with ARIANET
Project financed by ENEA and the Italian Ministry for the Environment (total investment 1,268 million Euros)

TFIAM Meeting, Berlin, May, 25-27, 2005
- Atmospheric Tranfer Matrices have been calculated, by the Eulerian AMS, for NH3, Sulphur, Nitrogen, Ozone and (provisionally) PM
- The RAINS-EU Web structure has been adopted for RAINS-Italy (web user interface in stand-alone mode)
- Introduction of the Health Impact Module, similarly to RAINS-EU, (in progess) with national data on population density, life tables etc.
- Completion expected in June 2005

TFIAM Meeting, Berlin, May, 25-27, 2005
Aerosol modules Aero3 and Aero0 for PM calculations:
Aero3 derived by US EPA Community Multiscale Air QualityModeling System (CMAQ)
Aero0 mass model as implemented in the Unified Model EMEP
An Atmospheric Transfer Matrix, SOA included, will be tentatively calculated, as test run.

Future potential improvements in RAINS-Italy
TFIAM Meeting, Berlin, May, 25-27, 2005
- Extention to the Heavy Metals
- Higher resolution of the grid (5x5 Km2 cell)
- Extention to the GHGs (IIASA GAINS Model)
