• Revision of automation system:
• Dosage levels and thus energy consumption remain unchanged for operations in marine and brackish water. Dosage starting point revised.
• Approved system will include approval for operations in fresh water (previously not a part of the IMO standard). Thus:
Dosage sequence for operations in fresh water is established.

• USCG vs. VGP (2013):
• OceanSaver complies with relevant requirements also
with regards to VGP
• Vessels using an approved (IMO or USCG) BWMS is
subject to “self monirtoring” as follows:
Year 1 after installation – samples should be
taken, analysed and reported twice over the year.
Following year 1 – samples should be taken,
analysed and included in the annual report.
• The VGP and the USCG Rules refer to the same
discharge standard. The VGP does not require any
system-specific approval.
