“Angels” Lyrics

Spend all your time waitingFor that second chance

For a break that would make it okayThere’s always one reasonTo feel not good enough

And it’s hard at the end of the dayI need some distraction

Oh beautiful releaseMemory seeps from my veins

Let me be emptyAnd weightless and maybeI’ll find some peace tonight

ALL STAND

Chorus:

In the arms of an angelFly away from hereFrom this dark cold hotel roomAnd the endlessness that you fearYou are pulled from the wreckageOf your silent reverieYou’re in the arms of the angelMay you find some comfort there

So tired of the straight lineAnd everywhere you turnThere’s vultures and thieves at your backAnd the storm keeps on twistingYou keep on building the lieThat you make up for all that you lackIt don’t make no differenceEscaping one last timeIt’s easier to believe in this sweet madness ohThis glorious sadness that brings me to my knees

3

Chorus:In the arms of an angel

Fly away from hereFrom this dark cold hotel room

And the endlessness that you fearYou are pulled from the wreckage

Of your silent reverieYou’re in the arms of the angel

May you find some comfort thereYou’re in the arms of the angel

May you find some comfort here

Song for the Presentation and Preparation of the Gifts:

“Temporary Home” Lyrics

Little boy, six years oldA little too used to being alone

Another new mom and dad, another schoolAnother house that’ll never be home

When people ask him how he likes this placeHe looks up and says with a smile upon his face

21

Chorus:

This is my temporary homeIt’s not where I belong

Windows and rooms that I’m passing throughThis is just a stop on the way to where I’m going

I’m not afraid because I knowThis is my temporary home

Mmmmm

A young mom on her ownShe needs a little help, got nowhere to go

She’s looking for a job, looking for a way out‘Cause a half-way house will never be a home

At night she whispers to her baby girlSomeday we’ll find our place here in this world

22

Chorus:

This is my temporary homeIt’s not where I belong

Windows and rooms that I’m passing throughThis is just a stop on the way to where I’m going

I’m not afraid because I knowThis is my temporary home

Mmmmm

Old man, hospital bedThe room is filled with people he loves

And he whispers, “don’t cry for me,I’ll see you all someday”

He looks up and says, “I can see God’s face”

CONSECRATION

Before he was given up to death, a death hefreely accepted, he took bread and gave you thanks. He broke the bread , gave it to his

disciples, and said:

(holds up the bread for the people)

Take this all of you and eat it: this is my body which will be given up for you.

When supper was ended he took the cup.

Again, he gave you thanks and praise, gave

the cup to his disciples, and said:

(holds up the cup for the people)

Take this, all of you, and drink from it: this is

the cup of my blood, the blood of the new

and everlasting covenant. It will be shed for

you and for all so that sins may be forgiven.

Do this in memory of me. 31

Priest: Let us proclaim the

mystery of faith

All:

Christ has died,

Christ is risen

Christ will come again.

32

Song for Communion

Somewhere over the Rainbow

46

"Somewhere Over The Rainbow" Lyrics

When all the clouds darken up the skywayThere's a rainbow highway to be found

Leading from your window painTo a place behind the sun

Just a step beyond the rain

Somewhere over the rainbowWay up high

There's a land that I heard ofOnce in a lullaby

Someday I'll wish upon a starAnd wake up where the clouds are far behind me

Where troubles melt lemon dropsAway above the chimney tops

That's where you'll find me

Somewhere over the rainbowBluebirds fly

Birds fly over the rainbowWhy then oh why can't I

If happy little bluebirds flyBeyond the rainbow

Why, oh, why can't I
