Her first sexual encounter, changes her life forever. Shelby is born. Becoming a mother at 17 would bring challenges not once but twice; Claudia is born eighteen months later; causing her to grow up faster than she could blink, but where there’s a will, there’s a way and she manages to survive with the support of her family, and best friend Joy. She experiences heartbreak, love and tragedy and learns that life is a constant; it never stays the same. Is there anything better than being able to read three
books in a row without having to wait 6 months to a year
to find out what happens next? I recently discovered two
paranormal series that I have really enjoyed and would
recommend if you like science fiction with a twinge of
romance.
The first series is written by Kalayna Price. The story-
line takes place on earth, but after a time when magic and
technology are vying for supremacy. Her main character,
Alex Craft, is a witch whose main skills involve raising
the shade of a dead person. Alex works as a private in-
vestigator and consultant to the police, helping to solve
murders. She has two developing love interests, “Death”
or a royal fairy. This series has a fast pace, great charac-
ters and an unexpected twist around the corner.
Book 1: Grave Witch
Book 2: Grave Dance
Book 3: Grave Memory
The second series is by a young adult author, Kiersten
White. She writes about a young sixteen-year-old girl
called Evie who is trying to figure out what she is and
what her purpose is. She is a “human” who can see
through the glamour of paranormals to their true self,
whether vampire, werewolf, fairy or something else. Her
skills have been tapped by a covert agency which uses her
to track down and tag other paranormals. The introduc-
tion of a love interest and the mysterious death of para-
normals cause Evie to reassess everything she knows to
be true. These tales are definitely of an angst ridden
teenager. If you can get past that, you will certainly enjoy
reading these paranormal tales.
Book 1: Paranormalcy
Book 2: Supernaturally
Book 3: Endlessly
