Kershaw CountySchool District officialsare encouraging parentsto be sure their studentsare vaccinated with adose of Tdap vaccine onor after their seventhbirthday to protect themfrom pertussis (whoop-ing cough).
Beginning with the2013-2014 school year,all rising 7th gradersmust have this addition-al dose of Tdap vaccine
as required by DHEC,and parents of these stu-dents will need to pro-vide their child’s schoolwith a South CarolinaCertificate of Immuniza-tion showing that he orshe has received thisnewly required Tdapvaccine at the time of thestudent’s registration.
