Lock systemKey number plate

Wireless remote control
Your key number is shown onthe plate. If you should loseyour keys or if you needadditional keys, duplicates canbe made using the key number.
The wireless remote controlsystem is designed to lock orunlock all the side doors andback door from a distancewithin approximately 1m of thevehicle.
To lock or unlock all the sidedoors and back door, press theswitches of the key slowly andsecurely.
Locking wheel nuts. NewCorolla's fitted with alloy wheelsare also specified with lockingwheel nuts for added security.
TVSS Alarm* Corolla T-Sportgrade is fitted with a ToyotaVehicle Security System for thelong term benefit of your car.
International Security Register.Your new Corolla has a uniquenumber etched into all windowglass. The ISR operates a 24hour service which can providepeace of mind for yourpurchase.

The engine immobiliser systemis a theft prevention system.The engine will start only whenthe electronic code in the chipinside the key corresponds tothe registered ID code of thevehicle.

Adjusting front seats
1. Seat position adjusting leverPull the lever up. Then slide theseat to the desired position withslight body pressure and releasethe lever.
2. Seat height adjusting leverPull up or push down the lever
3. Seatback angle adjusting leverPull up or push down the lever
Child restraint system
The Corolla features an ISOFIX child restraint system on the centre seats of themiddle row.
Child restraint systems are classified into the following 5 groups accordingto the regulation ECE No.44:Group 0: Up to 10 kg (0-9 months) Group 0+: Up to 13 kg (0-2 years)Group I: 9-18 kg (9 months-4 years) Group II: 15-25 kg (4 years-7 years)Group III:22-36 kg (6 years-12 years)
Seat beltsAdjust the seat as (front seats only)needed and sit up straight and wellback in the seat. To fasten your belt,pull it out of the retractor and insertthe tab into the buckle.You will hear a click when the tablocks into the buckle.The seat belt length automaticallyadjusts to your size and the seatposition.

Bonnet and fueltank opening
BonnetTo open the bonnet:1. Pull the bonnet lock release
lever. The bonnet will springup slightly.
2. In front of the vehicle, pull upthe auxiliary catch lever andlift the bonnet.
3. Hold the bonnet open byinserting the support rod intothe slot.
Fuel tank cap1. To open the fuel tank door,
pull the lever up. Whenrefuelling, turn off the engine.
2. To remove the fuel tank cap,turn the cap slowly counter-clockwise, then pause slightlybefore removing it. Afterremoving the cap, hang it onthe cap hanger.
Fuel type and tank capacity
Petrol engine:
Fuel type:unleaded petrol with a RONof 95 or higher.
Tank capacity: 55 litres
D-4D engine:
Fuel type:Diesel fuel with a cetanenumber of 48 or higher andmax. 500 ppm of sulphur.
Tank capacity: 55 litres

To adjust the steering wheelposition, pull up the lockrelease lever. Then, tilt thesteering wheel to the desiredangle, push or pull it to thedesired steering columnlength and return the lever toits original position.

Windscreen wipers andwasher
Headlights Twist the headlight/turn signallever knob to turn on thefollowing lights:
Position 1: Side, number plateand instrument panel lights
Position 2: Headlights and all ofthe above.
High-low beamsFor high beams, turn theheadlights on and push the leveraway from you (position 1) Pullthe lever towards you (position 2)for dipped beams.To flash the high beam headlight,pull the lever all the way back(position 3).

Rear window wiper andwasher
To turn on the windscreenwipers, move the lever to thedesired setting.
The key must be in the “ON”position.
Position 1: Intermittent orautomatic operation*
Position 2: IntermittentPosition 3: SlowPosition 4: Single sweepPosition 5: Washer onTo spray washer fluid, pull thelever towards you.
To turn on the rear windowwiper, twist the lever knobupward.The key must be in the ‘on’position.Position 1: IntermittentPosition 2: NormalTo spray washer fluid on the rearwindow, twist the knob upwardor downward as far as it will go(position 3 or 4). The knobautomatically returns from thesepositions after you release it.

Shift while holding the lock releasebutton in.
With the brake pedal depressed, shift whileholding the lock release button in. (Theignition switch must be in “ON” position.)
Shift normally.
Lock release button (to prevent mis-shifting)
Power windows The windows can be operated by the switcheson the driver's door or by the switch on eachpassenger's door.The ignition key must be in the “ON” position.
Operating the windowsNormal operation:The window moves as long as you hold theswitch.To open: Lightly push down the switch.To close: Lightly pull up the switch.Automatic operation:Push the switch completely down or pull itcompletely up, then release it. The window willfully open or close. To stop the window partway,lightly move the switch in the opposite directionand then release it.
All windows will also close via a one-touchoperation that has a built in anti-trap facility,where it will automatically retract if it detects aforeign subject 'trapped' between the windowand door frame.

Positioning the jack
Position the jack at the correct jackpoints as shown. Make sure thejack is positioned on a leveland solid surface.
Raising your vehicle
After making sure that no one is inthe vehicle, raise it high enough sothat the spare tyre can be installed.
