Former Chamber Board President Janet is originally from Savannah, MO. She moved to Kirksville from Columbia when her husband was transferred to the Northeast Regional office of the Missouri Department of Conservation. Janet has three children and enjoys horseback riding and gardening. She is an active member and current Chair of the Chamber Merchant$ Committee, the President Elect of the Thousand Hills Rotary and has served on the Chamber Board of Directors since 2010.
Deb Kerby
Truman State University Dean of School of Business
Former Chamber Board Vice President Deb is originally from Schuyler County, MO. She currently serves on the Board of the Kirksville Area Chamber of Commerce and Missouri Rural Enterprise and Innovation Center (MREIC) as well as acting as the Treasurer of New Hope Evangelical Church. Deb enjoys walking and fitness, reading, Truman athletics and St. Louis Cardinal Baseball. She was awarded the Walker and Doris Allen Fellowship for Faculty Excellence in 2004 for her role as a Professor of Accounting at Truman State University. Deb strives to advance community business networking opportunities through her service on the Chamber Board of Directors, on which she has served since 2012.
Penny Miles Northeast Missouri Community Action Agency
Executive Director Penny is originally from Macon County, MO. She came to Kirksville over 40 years ago while her husband finished school and loved the community so much that she never left. Penny is currently a National Board Member for Region VII of the National Community Action Partnership and is the Board President of the Missouri Community Action Agency. Penny has one son who works in the Truman State University Public Relations office and she enjoys playing bridge, golfing, gardening and knitting. Penny’s interest in the growth and development of the Kirksville community led her to begin her first term on the Chamber Board of Directors this year.
