HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
We hope you take time this Holiday Season to do those little
things that bring you joy. Whether it be enjoying the laughter of
little ones, reading a good book, spending time with friends and
family, etc…. It’s important that we do not put too much
pressure on ourselves to have the perfect holiday, and that we
take care of ourselves and those we care about.
It is our prayer this Christmas season that everyone be filled
with joy, love and most of all, peace.
Have a Blessed and Peaceful Holiday Season!
Fill The Ambulance With FOOD!
The past ‘Fill the Ambulance’ Drives have been overwhelmingly
successful thanks to the generosity of retirement community
residents here in St. Charles County!
From now until December 11th, we’ll collect non-perishable food
items to benefit Operation Food Search, a local non-profit that has
seen a continued increase in demand for food assistance.
On Wednesday, December 11th at 9:00 a.m., St. Charles County
Ambulance District Paramedics & Operation Food Search
volunteers will arrive at Twin Oaks at Heritage Pointe to collect
donations and fill the ambulance! You may bring your non-
perishable food donations to the lobby that day, or place it in the
container beforehand – whichever is most convenient. As always,
thank you for your support – it is very much appreciated!

The Chaplain’s Corner:
Sad to say, there is no doubt that the prevailing focus at Christmas seems to be on presents. However, I am sure the majority of you will agree with me that the older we get, the less we need “presents” and the more we need “presence”. At this time in our lives, we receive much greater joy from the presence of family and friends than from presents under the tree. But remember, it is the presence of the baby Jesus as revealed in every word of Luke 2 and felt in every verse of “Silent Night” that not only brings joy, but comfort and peace. When you stop to think about it, it is only because of the “presence” of Jesus on earth as “God Made Flesh” that we are able to receive the “presents” of peace, love and forgiveness.
Take time this Christmas to sing those favorite carols and praise God for the sending of His Son. Thank Him for his Presence! In so doing, may your Christmas be a blessed one! Reverend Lloyd Hackbarth
From the Desk of Nurses & Co:
Each month we remind you to consider your health and ways to improve your
wellness. This month, we want to take this time to tell you about one way the
Nurses & Company family is improving our wellness.
We recently kicked off an employee wellness program with a health fair where
we encouraged employees to get their annual physicals as well as their annual oral
health screenings. We also offered an opportunity to participate in a walking
challenge. We have been so impressed with the participation in this challenge.
Five teams of 13 have stepped up to “walk” to Destin, Florida! During the next
month, teams will keep track of their steps using pedometers and we will see
which one of the five teams will reach Florida first. We are so pleased with the
participation and the excitement, but we weren’t expecting to see such a
competitive race! Then again, we suppose we should have, after all we see that
competitive spirit in our staff each and every day as they work to ensure the best
care for our patients. It will be interesting to see what happens next. If you see
one of our employees out and about at Heritage Pointe, remember to cheer them
on and ask them how many steps they’ve taken. We could all use
our own cheering section every once in a while.
Best wishes to you and your family for a happy and healthy
Holiday Season!
We celebrated Veteran’s Day by honoring our
Heritage Pointe Veterans and spouses of
veterans. The Wentzville American Legion
Honor Guard came out to post the colors and
pay tribute to those who served. Students
from St. Dominic Catholic High School
entertained us with a salute to patriotic songs.
Thank you to everyone that has served our
country!
