• Women and Men are different!• Different levels of difference concerning health

– Sex = biological: chromosomes, hormonal profiles, internal and external sex organs

– Gender = sociocultural process: behaviour, lifestyle, life experience

• Effect– Manifestation in Epidemiology and Pathophysiology of diseases– Approach to Health Care Systems

• Target– More efficient Health Care– Gender-based prevention measures

• ‚Feminism‘? – NO! It‘s always both, women and men!

• ‚Higher Costs by more animal work and the need of more patients in research‘ – BUT that will lead to more precise diagnosis, therapy and better compliance!
