ATLANTA: Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter aremarking their 70th wedding anniversary.

The former US president and first ladymarried on July 7, 1946, in their small home-town of Plains, Georgia. Jimmy Carter, who’s91, and Rosalynn Carter, 88, told TheAssociated Press last month that mutualrespect makes their long marriage possible.

The Carters also said they give each otherplenty of space while working on separateprojects. The couple plans to spend the day

at home in Plains, while the Jimmy CarterPresidential Library and Museum in Atlantawill mark the occasion with 70-cent admis-sion. Museum officials say they’ll deliver cardsto the Carters.

The Carters’ marriage is second in lengthto one other former first couple. George H.W.Bush and Barbara Bush celebrated their 71stanniversary in January. — AP

LONDON: Thousands of people havestripped naked and painted themselves infour shades of blue to celebrate theEnglish city of Hull’s relationship with thesea.

Hull City Council says some 3,200 peo-ple took part in the art installation, stagedby New York artist Spencer Tunick yester-day. The work is called “Sea of Hull” andwas commissioned by the Ferens ArtGallery to mark the city’s celebration next

year as the UK City of Culture. Tunick saysthe resulting photos incorporate some ofthe city’s unique locations including theScale Lane footbridge, a swing bridgeoften compared to a pin ball flipper that isa tourist attraction in the northern Englishcity. The port city on the Humber River hasa rich maritime past dating to the 12thCentury. — AP

‘Unbreakable KimmySchmidt’ star Ellie

Kemper to pen bookNEW YORK: The star of “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” isbreaking into print. Scribner has announced it will publisha collection of humorous essays from Ellie Kemper, whoplays the title character in the Netflix comedy series“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” and was formerly a castmember of NBC’s “The Office.”

To be published in 2018, the book - not yet titled - willfeature stories from Kemper’s life, from growing up in St.Louis to her career in Hollywood. Scribner describesKemper’s writing style as “relatable, unexpected, insightfuland hilarious.”

Kemper has played the free-spirited Kimmy Schmidt fortwo seasons, with more to come. She portrayed reception-ist Erin Hannon on the last five seasons of “The Office” andco-starred in the 2011 hit film “Bridesmaids.”— AP

CINCINNATI: A Brazilian street artist is honoringastronaut and Ohio native Neil Armstrong in adowntown Cincinnati mural. The nonprofitArtWorks announced Friday that muralist EduardoKobra’s piece will feature Armstrong, the first per-son to walk on the moon. The announcementcomes shortly before the 47th anniversary of theJuly 20, 1969, moon landing. Armstrong latertaught aerospace engineering at the University ofCincinnati. The Wapakoneta (wah-puh-kuh-NET’-uh) native died in 2012 in Cincinnati at age 82.

Kobra is known for his hyperrealism style andusing colorful patterns. He plans to begin paintingearly next month. A dedication ceremony isplanned several weeks later. At more than 7,500square feet, the piece will be the largest project inArtWorks’ 21-year history. — AP
