INTRODUCTION OF NEW EDTECH PRODUCTS AND
PLATFORMS
US’ educational technology space has witnessed several new edtech
products and programs in Q1 2016. Among the new edtech products
introduced in Q1 2016, Amazon’s education unit, Amazon Education has
launched a new platform, which allows schools to upload, share and
manage open educational resources. The platform, which is currently in
beta testing, also allows users to rate and review the available resources.
It further supports a recommendation engine, to help them find related
resources, based on their previous searches.
SunTrust Banks, Inc.’s SunTrust Center for Financial Education has
launched an e–learning platform for Wake Technical Community College.
The National Financial Educators Council's eVolve eLearning platform is
intended to make the college students financially independent, and make
informed financial decisions. The platform uses simulation, project-based
learning, and case studies to help learners understand the nuances of
managing their finances.
Kaplan’s holding company — Graham Holdings Company — has launched
a cybersecurity training company — CyberVista. The company will provide
online training on business risks, tools and cybersecurity via live and
recorded sessions. The training will be targeted toward board members
and corporate executives, and will be based on Kaplan’s best practices in
imparting online learning.
