RAID 5(parity)-AlldrivesinaRAID5arrayreservepartoftheirdataspaceforparityinformation,allowingalldatatoberecoveredifasingledrivefails.Theparityinformationtakesupaboutoneharddrive’sworthofspace,soifyousetupallfourdrivesintheTeraStationasaRAID5array,yourusable capacitywill beabout3/4of the total capacity of theTeraStation. When using Standard Mode - The faileddrivewill have a red lightblinking in theSTATUS/FULLpositionofthefrontdisplay.Todeterminewhichdrivehasfailed,restarttheTeraStationandwatchwhichDiskLEDilluminatesred.Afterreplacingthefaileddrive,alldataonthatdrivewillbelost.Dataonotherdivesshouldstillbenormallyaccessable.
