Creating Your First Board:
All of the lists, projects, and tasks that you create for your organization to use will be organized
on a board. You can create multiple boards with different purposes (i.e. event planning,
projects, daily tasks, etc.) to fit the needs of your organization.
1. On your home screen, select the “+” button in the top right corner next to your name (see photo above).
2. Select the “New Board...” button and you will be prompted to enter a title for your board and adjust its’ privacy settings.
3. When you have created your board, you will be directed to the board’s page. There will be three sample “cards” that prompt you to add your own.
Cards are the basic unit of a board. This is where you will be able to start posting your to-do lists and ideas!
5
Adding Cards to Your Board:
1. Click on “Add a Card..” and type in the name of the project or task that you are adding to the desired list.
The card will now appear as an item
on that list.
2. Double-click on the card to see the variety of ways you can customize the card’s content and design.
From here, you will be able to edit the item’s details, add a checklist of things to do, assign a due date,
upload relevant files, and assign the card to another member of your organization if applicable.
For more information on customizing your cards, refer to Section 3 of this book.
6
Adding Other Members to Your Board:
By adding others to your board, you can....
1. Invite your coworkers and allow them to add/edit cards, upload attachments, and more!
2. Collaborate in “real-time” so that any changes that are made show up on everyone’s screen instantly!
3. Get email notifications of any changes that any of your members post to your board and when a task is completed.
4. Assign cards to your coworkers to easily delegate work and avoid miscommunications.
1. Select the “Add Members” button from the board’s sidebar
2. If he/she is already a Trello user, simply search for their username or email address.
3. If you are inviting someone who is not already a Trello user, you can invite them via email.
