MY CAMPAIGN FORCHEAPER PETROL

For the last year, I have campaignedfor cheaper petrol, and secured a

debate in Parliament on this issue.

This is the most pressing issue for the country - it’s causing misery for families, misery for businesses andit's creating a poverty trap.

"It's also the biggest break oneconomic growth. Businesses aregoing bust because they can't affordthe price of petrol. Taxi drivers, andhaulage firms are suffering. To befair, the Government have taken

some action already: cutting fuelduty by 1p this year, and scrapping

Labour’s disastrous “tax escalator”on petrol.

But we need to go further.Astronomical petrol prices aredriving people out of work, andcosting the Government money, asfewer people can afford to drive. This has cost the Government atleast £1 billion already this year.

We urgently need cheaper petrol: toget our economy moving again.

Campaigning for cheaper petrol and diesel

ROBERT HALFON IS “MOSTHARD WORKING NEW MP”

Thanks to our radical new law(the Localism Bill), residentswill have a genuine say over any future development. Thiswill help to save our fields

and woodlands. We havealso scrapped Labour’sdamaging housing targets.

For over 10 years, I havefought to keep our green beltsafe. Now, as MP, I will doeverything that I can to be astrong voice for the villages.
