SCHOOL MINISTRY NEWS Last weekend six of our teams went to the state
robotics championships in Ellensburg All of our
teams proudly represented our community with two teams
being awarded invitations to the world championships and a
third team coming tantalizingly close Gigi Mummery
Georgia Legere and Elin Kueber won the Engineering
Design Award in the elementary design and Gordon
McDowall Sean McDowall Conor Rich and Quinn
Yonemitsu won the Excellence Award in the elementary
division Matthew Abadir Colin Shearer and Logan
Yonemitsu came within 3 points of second place in the
teamwork challenge
As with any of our teams none of this could have been
accomplished by the strong work of the coaches A special
shout-out to our own 8th grader James Larkin who has
worked with the team throughout the year sharing his
experience Thank you to all of the parents who have
volunteered and supported the program throughout the year
especially Chris Legere and Lisa Vargo who dedicated
themselves to the program throughout the season Ms
Legere was recognized as the Teacher of the Year at the
state championships Go Falcons
AGAPE JUNIOR HIGH MISSION TRIP
Summer is right around the corner and so is the
AGAPE Junior High Mission Trip This well loved
Fatima tradition has returned and our dates for this
summer are July 15-20th Current OLF students and
parishioners currently in grades 6 7 and 8 are
invited to join this amazing 5 day program offered
by the Newman Catholic Center at Western
Washington University Only 12 spots are left and
partial payment (of $125) is due to reserve a
spot Financial assistance is available through the

CATHOLIC RELIEF SERVICES COLLECTION
Next week our parish will take up The Catholic Relief

Our Lady of Fatima provides Religious Education on
designated Sundays that are listed here Sunday
School for Pre K-Jr High takes place from 930-
1020 in the school The curriculum is grade specific
All parish children are encouraged to apply
Childrens Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) takes place
during 1030 mass for children pre-k through 6yo or
who are not preparing for 1st Holy Communion
Lessons are specific to this age group Younger
children are welcome accompanied with an adult
Children preparing for First Eucharist and older
accompany their parents and participate in the
sacrifice of the Mass in church

SAFE ENVIRONMENT TRAINING FOR YOUTH
This WinterSpring Our Lady of Fatima Religious
Education and Youth Group will offer one sexual
abuse prevention course to your youth In our efforts
to protect our vulnerable population the Archdiocese
of Seattle has integrated abuse prevention material
into our faith formation and youth ministry
curriculum in the context of teaching our youth about
our Catholic faith
In creating a safe space for our youth we can teach
and show them the ways of Christ in a safe
environment conducive to learning Keeping our
minors and vulnerable adultrsquos safe starts with you
We ask that you take part in this effort in extending
the Archbishoprsquos effort to help evangelize our youth
in a safe space

Beginning this Saturday March 3rd we will implement some changes
to Communion locations
There will be four stations for the Precious Body of Christ
Those wishing to receive the Precious Blood of Christ will have two stationsmdash
one on each side of the Sanctuarymdashnear the Tabernacle and the other near the organ
If receiving from the chalice please process in the direction of the red arrows
on the diagram and proceed around the congregation before returning to your pew
Ushers will be present to direct the flow of the procession
Those unable to process will receive the Precious Body from a roving minister
This change to two cups from four is due to too few Eucharistic Minister volunteers
It takes time to adapt to new procedures Thank you for your patience

1020 in the school The curriculum is grade specific
All parish children are encouraged to apply
Childrens Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) takes place
during 1030 mass for children pre-k through 6yo or
who are not preparing for 1st Holy Communion
Lessons are specific to this age group Younger
children are welcome accompanied with an adult
Children preparing for First Eucharist and older
accompany their parents and participate in the
sacrifice of the Mass in church

for infant baptism in June

This WinterSpring Our Lady of Fatima Religious
Education and Youth Group will offer one sexual
abuse prevention course to your youth In our efforts
to protect our vulnerable population the Archdiocese
of Seattle has integrated abuse prevention material
into our faith formation and youth ministry
curriculum in the context of teaching our youth about
our Catholic faith
In creating a safe space for our youth we can teach
and show them the ways of Christ in a safe
environment conducive to learning Keeping our
minors and vulnerable adultrsquos safe starts with you
We ask that you take part in this effort in extending
the Archbishoprsquos effort to help evangelize our youth
in a safe space

to Communion locations
There will be four stations for the Precious Body of Christ
Those wishing to receive the Precious Blood of Christ will have two stationsmdash
one on each side of the Sanctuarymdashnear the Tabernacle and the other near the organ
If receiving from the chalice please process in the direction of the red arrows
on the diagram and proceed around the congregation before returning to your pew
Ushers will be present to direct the flow of the procession
Those unable to process will receive the Precious Body from a roving minister
This change to two cups from four is due to too few Eucharistic Minister volunteers
It takes time to adapt to new procedures Thank you for your patience

SCHOOL MINISTRY NEWS Last weekend six of our teams went to the state
robotics championships in Ellensburg All of our
teams proudly represented our community with two teams
being awarded invitations to the world championships and a
third team coming tantalizingly close Gigi Mummery
Georgia Legere and Elin Kueber won the Engineering
Design Award in the elementary design and Gordon
McDowall Sean McDowall Conor Rich and Quinn
Yonemitsu won the Excellence Award in the elementary
division Matthew Abadir Colin Shearer and Logan
Yonemitsu came within 3 points of second place in the
teamwork challenge
As with any of our teams none of this could have been
accomplished by the strong work of the coaches A special
shout-out to our own 8th grader James Larkin who has
worked with the team throughout the year sharing his
experience Thank you to all of the parents who have
volunteered and supported the program throughout the year
especially Chris Legere and Lisa Vargo who dedicated
themselves to the program throughout the season Ms
Legere was recognized as the Teacher of the Year at the
state championships Go Falcons
AGAPE JUNIOR HIGH MISSION TRIP
Summer is right around the corner and so is the
AGAPE Junior High Mission Trip This well loved
Fatima tradition has returned and our dates for this
summer are July 15-20th Current OLF students and
parishioners currently in grades 6 7 and 8 are
invited to join this amazing 5 day program offered
by the Newman Catholic Center at Western
Washington University Only 12 spots are left and
partial payment (of $125) is due to reserve a
spot Financial assistance is available through the

CATHOLIC RELIEF SERVICES COLLECTION
Next week our parish will take up The Catholic Relief
Services Collection (CRSC) Funds from this collection
help provide food to the hungry support to displaced
refugees and bring Christrsquos love and mercy to all people

ST FRANCIS HOUSE Sandwiches individually
wrapped and back in labeled bread bags as to what
kind plus hard boiled eggs-please deliver to the
Parish Center on Wednesdays by 900 am Our
dedicated Volunteers deliver every week The food
from Fatima is usually the only food the St Francis
clients receive each Wednesday
St Francis House also especially needs clean menrsquos
clothing such as jeans t-shirts sweatshirts and

TENT CITY 5 Warm food and snacks especially
needed at lunchtimes and on weekends Coffee and
condiments such as ketchup mayo mustard sugar
packets and half amp half are needed and appreciated

Easiest access to TC5 is from Dravus on the right
side of 15th to virtually under the Magnolia Bridge

SAFE ENVIRONMENT TRAINING FOR YOUTH
This WinterSpring Our Lady of Fatima Religious
Education and Youth Group will offer one sexual
abuse prevention course to your youth In our efforts
to protect our vulnerable population the Archdiocese
of Seattle has integrated abuse prevention material
into our faith formation and youth ministry
curriculum in the context of teaching our youth about
our Catholic faith
In creating a safe space for our youth we can teach
and show them the ways of Christ in a safe
environment conducive to learning Keeping our
minors and vulnerable adultrsquos safe starts with you
We ask that you take part in this effort in extending
the Archbishoprsquos effort to help evangelize our youth
in a safe space
To help you understand what your youth will be

Beginning this Saturday March 3rd we will implement some changes
to Communion locations
There will be four stations for the Precious Body of Christ
Those wishing to receive the Precious Blood of Christ will have two stationsmdash
one on each side of the Sanctuarymdashnear the Tabernacle and the other near the organ
If receiving from the chalice please process in the direction of the red arrows
on the diagram and proceed around the congregation before returning to your pew
Ushers will be present to direct the flow of the procession
Those unable to process will receive the Precious Body from a roving minister
This change to two cups from four is due to too few Eucharistic Minister volunteers
It takes time to adapt to new procedures Thank you for your patience
