COFFEE WITH THE CEO
Enjoy coffee with CEO Ron Kelly, Thursday, DECEMBER 19th starting at 10:00 am in the Coffee Lounge. These coffees are held every Thursday to give residents an opportunity to chat in an informal setting.
There will be NO CEO COFFEE Thursday, DECEMBER 26th.
DO YOU HEAR WHAT I HEAR???
IS THAT THE SOUNDS OF THE HOLIDAYS
ECHOING THROUGH THE HALLS???
THURSDAY, December 19th is Epworth Villa Christmas Cheer Day and the (strange) sounds you may be hearing are from some of
our own Epworth Villa staff spreading Christmas Cheer through the halls, the floors and the households.
If you would like to be serenaded by this crazy but lovable bunch of folks, they will make their first appearance in the Epworth Villa Coffee Lounge immediately following the Coffee with the CEO at around 10:30 am as they make their way to Assisted Living and on to the Households.
Show them your support by waving and ‘cheering’ as they pass you by. TRULY, YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS SEEING AND HEARING WHAT IS PLANNED FOR THE DAY!!
EMMA GEE PIANO CONCERT THURSDAY, DECEMBER 19TH
5:30 PM BRILL CHAPEL
THANK YOU!!!
Our thanks go to the maintenance staff who worked on the
second floor East Christmas Tree lights.

12 Healthy Days of Christmas
It is easy to let holiday to-do lists take over our lives, but giving ourselves a couple of small
“gifts” a day will make a big difference in staying stress-free and healthy this holiday season.
• On the 1st day of Christmas: Take a musical time-out by making a holiday playlist.
Listening to music can lower stress hormones, blood pressure and heart rates, as well as
decrease anxiety and take your mind off pressing issues.
• On the 2nd day of Christmas: Play like a kid. If there is snow on the ground, build a
snowman, throw snowballs or take a walk and look at decorations.
• On the 3rd day of Christmas: Focus on one task at a time instead of multi-tasking. When
you are wrapping presents or making cookies, take time to enjoy these activities and
reflect on memories of these happy times instead of running from one task to the next.
• On the 4th day of Christmas: Look out the window and enjoy nature. Gazing out the
window can lower your heart rate and breathing rate and help lift your mood.
• On the 5th day of Christmas: Remember the spirit of the season and express gratitude.
Being grateful for what you have can help you be happy.
• On the 6th day of Christmas: Learn to say “No, No, No” instead of “Go, Go, Go.” This can
help prevent over-committing, which allows more time to enjoy the holidays.
• On the 7th day of Christmas: Exercise. Sticking to your regular exercise schedule during
the holidays reduces stress. Even a 20-minute walk three times a week can make a
difference.
• On the 8th day of Christmas: Create a personal space. Whether it is your bedroom, car,
kitchen or bathroom, find a place that can be your peaceful place for a five-minute
recharge.
• On the 9th day of Christmas: Focus on healthy eating. Good nutrition provides an energy
boost, promotes a healthy immune system and prevents weight gain.
• On the 10th day of Christmas: Get your sleep. The gift of good sleep provides both a
physical and mental boost, which will help concentration, memory and mood.
• On the 11th day of Christmas: Help others in your community. Giving time to help others
in need lifts the spirits of others as well as your own, and takes the focus off your
concerns.
• On the 12th day of Christmas: Enjoy time with family and friends. Tell stories and make
each other laugh while creating lasting memories.

‘Tis the season to go shopping! It seems we are getting a lot of packages for the holidays early this year and they can pile up quickly. If you receive a package, it would be most appreciated if you retrieve it as soon as you can.
Thank you so much,

It is NOT too late to get the PERFECT gift!
We thank all of you who came by and purchased Fair Trade products when we were at Epworth Dec. 9! If you could not make it, it is not too late for you to order. Refer to the green sheet that was put in your mailbox a week ago, call or text Dave at 405.443.7302 or email me at
[email protected], let me know what items you want. Leave your payment at the front desk receptionist and I will drop off your items and pick up payment - how easy can it be?
On behalf of us selling Fair Trade, the small growers who benefit when you purchase, and the many groups who are recipients of the profits of our sales, have a very happy Holiday! We so enjoy coming to Epworth, meeting you and help you learn about Fair Trade! Dave (The Coffee Guy)

It was a wonderful day!!

ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL
CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PARTY
The success of the Children’s Party was due to the many efforts of too many residents to thank individually, but the
group effort was outstanding and memorable for the children. The exact number of attendees was hard to determine; however, there were 141 children who picked up a gift bag.
Thanks to the residents who contributed toward the expenses of the party. It was through the financial contributions and the generous efforts of residents who contributed their time, talent and energy that made the party successful. It made it all a worthwhile experience.
Many Thanks,
Sandra B.
