Avoid sharpening your pencil when I’m in the middle of talking; it’s rude.

Under no circumstances should you line up at the door before the bell rings.

You are to remain seated until the bell rings.

You will not be permitted to leave until everyone is seated.

The most important parts…

Major assignments (tests, projects, compositions) = 45%

Minor assignments (quizzes, homework, classwork) = 25%

Vocabulary assessment = 10%

Final exam = 20%

If you are not IN YOUR SEAT by the time the bell rings, I will mark you as an unexcused tardy in Synergy.

There will be no discussion of this, as it is not up for debate.

After 3 unexcused tardies to my class, you will be written up and receive a Saturday school.

Everyone receives a one freebie per semester.

– It is your responsibility to find, complete, and submit

your make-up work. I will not be keeping up with it,

and I will not ask you for it, as it is not my grade.

Assignments deducted 20% per

day late, up to 3 days. After 3

days, the highest grade you can

receive is a 40%.

– Monday-Friday from 7:35-8:15am or 3:30-4:00pm

by appointment only.

– Make appointments at least 24 hours in advance,

so I can ensure that I am available and ready.

All work should be legible.

If I cannot read your handwriting, you will receive a temporary grade of zero until you re-write or type your work. It will not be counted late.

– Copying someone else’s work

– Plagiarism– we use turnitin.com; I will not grade your work until

you submit it to turnitin.com

– Looking at someone’s work during test/quiz

– Having notes, phone, other test aids out during a test/quiz

– Collaboration when individual work is expected

– Will always result in zero, non-negotiable
