You will be assigned a computer today and that will be your assigned seat for the year (unless you need to me moved by the teacher).
Use the color card system to ask for help and/or to print.
Always give me “5” before you leave the lab!
Find your Log-In Card hanging on the side of your computer. This will be your name tag that you can slip into the clear name tag holders at the top of your monitor. Please be careful with them. They can fall off easily! If we have any pass-codes or logins- we can write them on the back!YOU AREN’T ALLOWED TO LOOK OR USE ANYONE ELSES NAME TAGS AND/OR PASSCODES
Log-In Cards
In the cup on the side of your monitor you will find 3 colored cards. Post the
Blue card that says “I need help but I can
continue working” when you need the teachers
assistance but you think you can continue working and wait patiently for your
teacher to help you.
Blue Color Card
Post the red card when you need help and you Can’t
Continue working without your teachers help.
Remember you can always quietly ask a neighbor first
(unless we are testing). However, even with a red card
it might take a few minutes for your teacher to get to you.
Please be patient!
Red Color Card
The Green card is to be used only when we are doing
a project that involves printing. Usually I will have you post this card when you are finished with your project before you print so I can first check your work! We don’t
want to waist paper and ink. Remember, you are only
allowed to print once.
Green Color Card
Be Patient! Remember there is only one of me and over 30
of you, so please BE PATIENT with the lab teacher. This is key to a successful class.
When I am giving directions wait until the directions are complete. I will always ask for questions before I have you work independently. And remember, while you’re working if you still need help you can always post one of your color cards.
