Hello, August! The summer is flying by and great things are happening
in the life of GIBC. Even as summer attendance has had its usual fluctuations, your summer giving has remained generous to the point that we are ahead of budget and able to do more ministry than we thought possible at the end of last year! Praise the Lord! Last Sunday, we announced to the church that the personnel team had interviewed a man for our part time Student Pastor Position. Although we were not actively advertising the position, the church has been praying for God to lead the right candidate to us. We believe that has happened. Come see for yourself! This Sunday, August 2nd, there will be a covered dish meet and greet fellowship following morning worship to get to know Clint Patterson and his family. Clint and his wife, Amanda, along with their three sons, Ridge, Roan, and Reid, have been members of GIBC since April. When they joined the church, they were not expecting God to open this door of opportunity. After getting to know them through Bible Fellowship on Sunday mornings, Wednesday night discipleship, and serving in VBS with our youth this year, it has become clear this could be a really great fit! Oh, and he’s the guy who preached when I was out of town a few weeks back! So, we will have a chance to ask Clint questions and get to know this family on Sunday, August 2nd. Then let us pray for God’s will as we meet next Sunday, August 9th, and vote concerning extending a call to Clint and his family to serve as our part time Associate Pastor of Students. Clint has his Masters in Divinity, and will continue to teach Bible full time at First Academy in Leesburg. Amanda serves at First Academy as well, as the school’s guidance counselor.

Back to School Bash > August 19th at
6:30 PM. GIBC likes to help our children and our neighboring schools with the donated supplies. Last year we assisted many students with school supplies. List of what we need this school year: spiral notebooks, folders with & without fasteners, 2” binders, scissors, scotch tape, glue sticks, liquid glue, colored pencils, gal. Ziploc bags, wide markers, pens, highlighters, pencil boxes, composition books, wide ruled paper, & divider tabs. A donation basket is available in the foyer or drop by the Church Office.

5th at 6:30 PM is Welcome Night. Join us as we welcome the incoming 6th graders and spend some time getting to know them. Snacks and fun included.

Baby Bottle Boomerang > Thank You
to everyone donated. This year GIBC raised $2,955.58! – ($1,554.96 from Baby Bottles and $1,400.62 from VBS). A grand total of $19,000 was raised by local churches this year. Contact Judy Fanta for questions about this ministry.
