What factors effect the bounce of a ball?

What factors affect the bounce of a ball?BY: Jorge QuesadaResearchElasticity Friction Air Resistance

Hypothesis If I drop a ball from a high point then, it well bounce higher than if dropped from a lower height.

Independent and Dependent VariableIndependent VariableThe height The type of ballDependent VariableSpeed at witch the ball falls

Controlled Variable (3)The Type of ballFrictionRate of fall

Materials and Procedures MaterialsFoam ballsTimer (phone)LadderPen and PaperProcedurePosition a ladder at the site of the experiment.Drop a ball three times (one at a time) from a height of 5ft, record rate of fall.Drop a ball three times (one at a time) from a height of 8ft, record rate of fall.compare results

Data

ConclusionIt turn out that my hypothesis was indeed correct, that the higher the ball fell the more time it took for it to land.

Experiment 2Does wind affect the time it takes a ball to land on the ground?Hypothesis If my research is correct, I think that wind will affect the landing time of a ball.

Independent and dependent variable Independent variableSpeed of wind (high, low, medium)The ball Dependent variableSpeed the ball falls

Controlled variablesAir friction Rate of fallType of ballMaterials and procedures MaterialsBallfan

ProceduresPlace a fan in the mid point of the balls falling distance. Drop ball from 6 ft on low(fan speeds), then medium , and high. Repeat 3 times.Record time of fall and average.

13Data

conclusionIt turns out that the speed of the fan did affect the time it took the ball to hit the ground.

Experiment 3Does height affect the elasticity of a ball?

Hypothesis I think it does have a effect on the ball elasticity in the height the ball is dropped

Independent and dependent variableIndependent variableFoam ball The height the ball is dropped from Dependent variableThe height the ball jumps back up in inches

Controlled variableType of ballElasticityThe height the ball is dropped

Data

Conclusion The elasticity of the ball was affect to the height the ball was dropped.
