Murton Trust for Education and the Environment has been

selected as a charity partner by Pilotlight. They are a charity

that connects a team of business professionals with ambitious

charities to tackle their most pressing needs, providing support,

capacity building, and strategic planning for a year with the aim

of increasing sustainability, development and growth.

Each charity works with a team of pilotlighters. The Murton

Trust Pilot Light Team are Annique Armstrong, Anne Mitchell

Don Robertson, David Rockliff.

The Pilotlight Team visited Murton Farm and Nature Reserve

on the 6th June to meet Trustees, Staff and young people to

explore the work that we do.

John Seaton—Chair

“Brought up five miles from Murton, I

have know Murton Farm all my life. I

trained as a Chartered Accountant in

Dundee and subsequently continued to

practice as a Partner at a Forfar firm

from which I retired in 2011. I became a

Trustee in 2008 and since retirement

have become more involved at Murton

and other Chairities. I live in Forfar

with my wife. Father to two sons and

three grandchildren, all of whom enjoy

the facilities at Murton Farm and Nature

Reserve.”

Introducing our Trustees:

The Northern Marsh Orchid is sprouting

up throughout the nature reserve, you

cannot fail to spot this striking purple

flower.

Our resident swans have had

cygnets and these youngsters

are still very small but can be

seen out on the water of

Buddy’s Loch which you can

see from the Stewart or

Gladstone Hide.

These Damselflies are striking

blue in colour and can be seen

darting around the Thistle Bank

path in abundance.

Forfar Inner Wheel donates to flood recovery.

Many thanks to Forfar Inner Wheel who have kindly donated money towards play equipment for the farm following the flooding earlier on in the year.

Alison Elliott was presented with a cheque by President Jean, Treasurer Susan, Secretary Agnes and Incoming President Christine, on the 15th June along side presentations to Dr Burt for the Forfar Garden Scheme, and Kieran Dear who is travelling to a remote part of South America with Project Trust.
