“Traditional purlin shed: Cold-formed C-channel sections have been used in portal frame sheds for a wide range of domestic, agricultural and light industrial applications for many years in Australia and New Zealand.Professor JE Mills, University of South AustraliaTesting has demonstrated that many of the joint designs widely used in practice do not achieve the moment capacity of the sections and fail prematurely.”
The brackets are the weakest link in the frame and together with the quantities required in a shed build makes it time consuming and expensive to assemble. The Kwiksure System eliminates the following:

C SECTION FRAME KWIKSURE
C section frames generally have 5 times more partsand 5 times more fasteners than a RHS Kwiksureframe shed.
Columns and Rafters are already profiled to accommodate attachment to each other by patentedmeans of connection with use of specified fasteners only as the Kwiksure frame uses no brackets andrequire no welding BUT provides superior connection than either of the current C frame or welded frame.
Once you have figured out what all the parts are for & where theyare to be attached, it will take you several hours to bolt all yourbrackets and cleats to the shed frame members and then bolt theframe together.
There are no Apex brackets, Haunch brackets and cleats to be bolted or welded to columns, rafter members.Purlins are self locating, stable and easily affixed with our specialised fasteners with a minimum of fuss.Pre-laser cut holes ensure the quality of alignment and reduces the skill level required to assemble the frame.
If building a barn or large shed, it can take a day or two just to sortout the brackets and to bolt to adjoining members before the framecan be erected. Very large sheds require bolting up back to backpurlins, haunch plates, apex plates and braces that will severelyimpact the erection cost
Small or large sheds require no difference in general methodology. Simply fasten and erect!
MEASURE AND PLACEMENT OF SHED
To start erecting the shed, the base brackets need to be bolted tothe slab. To do this the distance in from the slab edge allowing forthe offset distance of the side girts. The centres between the bayshave then to be marked allowing for the offset allowances of thegirts.CONFUSED?Standing of the C section frame requires extensive manual handlingwith temporary bracing to stabilise each portal thus requiring labourand bracing materials in the process
Simply measure end to end your bay sizes. If 12m long you simply mark out 4m centres for each 4m bayon each side.Base plates are simply bolted down at the edge of the slab OR the base plates can be pre assembled tothe base of the columns and the entire portal stood into place.
The Kwiksure frame is rigid and naturally stable requiring little or no bracing
STANDING FRAME
C section frames are inherently unstable due to flexing, twisting &rotation of the members. Connecting of parts during the erectionprocess relies heavily on extensive bracing during this erectingprocess
The Kwiksure frame being RHS or SHS is significantly much easier to erect, is stable and safer as thesections are structural in design
