An essay consists of 4 parts:

1. Introduction

2. Two body paragraphs

3. Concluding paragraph

INTRODUCTION (INTRODUCTORY PARAGRAPH)

1. The first paragraph in an essay

2. Includes the thesis

3. Thesis is most often at the end.

BODY PARAGRAPH

A middle paragraph in an essay

Develops a point that supports thesis

CONCLUDING PARAGRAPH

Last paragraph in essaySums up, reflects on previous comments, gives more commentary or personal statement regarding subject

CONCLUDING PARAGRAPH DOES NOT:

Include concrete detailRepeat key words from paper

(especially from thesis or introduction)

It does the same thing for a body paragraph that the thesis does for the whole essay
