Yesterdays 25th Annual Car Show

Saturday August 19 was our

25th Annual Car Show. The

weather was perfect. It got a

little warm later in the

afternoon but I didn’t hear

anyone complaining about the

cold or rain. We had 70

registered cars this year which

again is about average. The

local VFW performed a flag

raising ceremony around 9:30

which was a really nice touch. It reminds us that we are pretty lucky to live where we do.

This year again we had a great

assortment of door prizes and

raffle items. Griot’s donated

several of their car care

products, and we had lots of

great gift baskets and other

items, gift certificates and a

couple of car jackets. There was

also an insurance company tent,

O’Riley’s auto parts and the

LeMay museum also had a tent

and brought a 1960 El Camino.

We had a nice assortment of “drop tops” which were parked on the infield

Big Mama’s Kitchen served up

the grub again this year and did

a great job. Around lunch time

the line got pretty long but they

kept up with no problem. The

club also had a big cooler full of

free ice cold water which was

really nice. We also had the

shaved ice folks on hand which

came in pretty handy in the afternoon. There was music all day and the DJ did a great

job of announcing raffle numbers and giving away door prizes for correctly answering TV

trivia questions. It was a great day!

I would like to extend a big thank you on behalf of the club to Griots Garage for again

hosting our event. Without their generosity in letting us use their facility, we might not

have a car show. THANKS GRIOTS!!!
