ON NOW AT
SALEY - Anne Saley was born on August 3, 1924 in the Bankend area. She was the second oldest of four children born to John and Mary (nee Kreklewetz) Sorochan. Anne attended school in Bankend until Grade 8 and then went to work at the Fort San Hospital for about one year. She then went out east to work in Toronto for three years. After returning from Toronto to the Bankend area, Anne married John Saley on August 31, 1946. They made their home north of Bankend where they farmed and raised their three children. In the fall of 1982 John and Anne retired and moved to Yorkton where Anne stayed until moving to Saskatoon in the fall of 2001. Due to failing health Anne moved to Golden Acres Nursing Home in Wynyard in the fall of 2013 where she resided until her death on October 1. Anne had a green
thumb and took pride in her gardens and flowers. She had a special touch in grow-ing African Violets. Anne was a community oriented woman, always helping out at church and community functions. She was a member of the UWAC for many years. Anne was lovingly known as Granny to her family and the many others whose lives she had touched. Granny enjoyed quilting and crocheting. She crocheted each one of her four Granddaughters a table cloth as a wedding gift. The greatest joy in her life were her Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. Granny cherished and looked forward to every visit. Granny took great joy in reciting the rhyme This Little Piggy in Ukrainian numerous times to her Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. Granny loved to cook and feed her family. She was known for her tradi- tional Ukrainian foods, especially her petite cabbage rolls and nalysnyky. It became a family tradition to gather at her place in the fall time for peach pie and ice cream. Granny was a kind and gentle lady who touched the hearts of many people. Anne leaves to cherish her memory her Son, Ivan (Sharlotte) Saley, Granddaughter Dina (Geoff) Rathgaber, Great-Grand- children Alexa and Addison, Granddaughter Tracy (Greg) Kozak and Great-Grandchildren Hailey, and Braeden; Daughter, Debby (Tony) Daki- niewich, Granddaughter Amanda (Keith) Keyowski, Great-Grandchildren Katelynn and Emma, Granddaughter Melissa (Tim) Mateush, Great- Grandchildren Chloe and Henley; Son, Randy (Bobbi) Saley and Grand- sons Alexander and Adam; sister Natalia Klimosko; Sister-in-law Mary Sorochan and numerous nieces and nephews. WOROSCHUK - Peter Woroschuk was born April 17, 1923 to Nestor and Artimeza (nee Axenty). Peter attended Liberal school, at an ear- ly age he began working on the farm at his fathers side. Peter married Jean Wicheruk on Novem- ber 5, 1944 and took over the homestead northeast of Calder. Dad was a perfectionist at every- thing he did and believed in doing an excellent job. As a mechanic, carpenter, plumber, electrician and bookkeeper he did a great deal of reading and was self-taught in these areas. He believed in hon- est, hard work and with mom taught us to be honest, re- spectable, dedicated and hard working. These ethics have been passed on to the grandchildren as well. Dad was a great provider and leader. Peter spent 18 years driv- ing the school bus for the Kam- sack School Division and 16 years as Councilor in the Rural Munici- pality of Calder. Peter also was a representative on the Health Re-
gion Home Care Board. Peter and Jean retired to Yorkton in 2001; An- drew continues to farm as a successful farmer and certified seed grower. Peter always enjoyed a good conversation with a great sense of humor, retelling great stories and taking time to hear what was going on in the lives of his children. Dad was very proud of all of us. Our father was very devoted to his Christian faith, praying the Lords Prayer every day in the morning before the icon of the Lords supper. Christmas, Easter, wedding and birthday celebrations were important family events when Dad eagerly awaited our arrival to be together. Peter was interested in world events, politics and voted in the recent election 2 days previous to his passing. Peter and Jean enjoyed traveling over the years, often taking day trips and also to California to visit Dads cousins and to Ontario to visit Moms family. Dad will be greatly missed by his loving wife Jean, just short of their 71st wedding anniversary. Children: Andrew (Kim) of Calder, Stan (Louise) of Yorkton, Marge (Gordie) Stevenson of Yorkton, Stephanie (John) Bodnaryk of Rhein, 10 grandchildren, LeeAnn (Peter) Novak, An- gie Redpath, LaVerne Woroschuk (Steve), Dave (Kara) Fyck, Sherry (Grant) Lindgren, Dean (Eileen) Fyck, Melissa (Ryan) Samenook, Ian (Maria) Bodnaryk, Stacy (Adam) Vangen, Colin (Jill) Bodnaryk and 18 great-grandchildren. Also sisters Elsie Todosichuk and Mary Kuryluk. Dad was predeceased by his son David in 1970 and sister Nonie Shewchuk. Dad will be very sadly missed by all of us. Prayers were held on Tuesday evening, October 20, 2015 from St. Marks Orthodox Church in Yorkton. The funeral service was held on Wednesday morning, October 21, 2015 from St. Marks Orthodox Church with Rev. Fr. Rodion Luciuk Celebrant. Members of St. Marks Parish Choir led in the singing of the responses. The cross bearer was Rodney Flunder, the sacristan was Stan Wasyly- niuk. The interment took place in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Dave & Dean Fyck, Peter Novak, Ian & Colin Bodnaryk and Adam Vangen serv- ing as the casket bearers. Condolences can be left at baileysfuneral- home.com. Memorials were to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
MATTIS - Paul Mattis peacefully went to his Lord and Savior the morning of October 19, 2015 in Saskatoon, SK. Paul was born in Lemberg, SK in 1938 and the family moved to a farm in Kinbrae area (Zeneta) in 1948. In 1963, after working at the IMC K1 mine, he bought his own farm, his true passion aside from fishing. Paul worked various jobs in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec. He took many farm mechanics classes and was a municipal counsellor. He was a hard working man who was trustworthy and loyal at whatever employment he undertook. He made friends wherever he went; no one was a stranger to him - just a friend he had not yet met. Paul was always ready to help someone, lend a tool, a piece of equipment or fix the unfix-able for a neighbour in need. In 1995 Paul married Sharon Nordin (Ecklin) and his family expanded to sons and grandchildren. Paul absolutely adored his grandchildren. Hed dress up in a Santa suit, tell a silly tale, play Barbie, save treasures for them, build them a playhouse or teach them the value of fishing and camping with those you love. Paul was predeceased by his parents; Ida and Reinhold, his brother, Alfred, and sister-in-law Carol. He is survived by wife Sharon, step-sons Stacy and Brent and their families, as well as his sister, Evelyn Ecklin (Stuart) and their family, sister-in-law Laura, their children and grandchildren. Donations to the MS Research or Alzheimer Research would be appreciated. A goood man - have a glass of Tea and a laugh at the good times. Happy fishing in heaven Grandpa. The family wishes to thank those who called and visited in his time of illness. We thank the wonderful staff at Sherbrooke Community Centre. You are the best. As well, we thank you all for your expressions of condolences in thoughts and prayers, words and deeds. It meant so much and we are so grateful. He lives on in our hearts. God bless you all.

SWEEPING ROOF LINES
Sweeping roof lines, a dramatic arched tran-som entry and a smooth stucco exterior contrib-ute to the sophisticated appeal of this compact, open-plan home.
Inside the covered entrance, the large foyer presents a view of the great room with its appealing corner fire-place just part of an exceptional family area that has all the elements
necessary for todays casual lifestyle.
An oversized sun deck, accessed from the family room, adds out-door living space. This deck is partly covered by the roofline above, a bonus on rainy days.
The dining area is designed for formal or informal gatherings. It has a convenient buffet space and natural light will flood in through a wall of windows.
In the kitchen area, a central island holds a double sink as well as the
dishwasher. The raised eating bar along one side of the island makes an ideal place to sit for a quick breakfast or mid-morning coffee.
A pass-through between the kitchen and the laundry room is large enough to accom-modate a second fridge or a freezer. The laundry room leads to the double garage, providing a con-venient route for unload-ing groceries from the car.
The master bedroom suite is privately located
at the rear of the house and has a door that opens to the sun deck. A large walk-in closet holds his and hers clothes while a five-piece bathroom cre-ates a home-spa experi-ence.
The sky lit hallway in the sleeping wing also leads to a three-piece bathroom shared by the two secondary bedrooms.
High ceilings add to the airy, relaxed interior of this innovative design.
The home measures 52 feet, 6 inches wide and 52 feet deep, for a total of 1,485 square feet of living space, plus an unfinished basement.
Plans for design 1-3-549 are available for $625 (set of 5), $710(set of 8) and $778 for a super set of 10. B.C. residents add 7% Prov. Sales Tax. Also add $35.00 for Priority courier charges within B.C. or $65.00 outside of B.C. Please add 5% G.S.T. or 13% H.S.T. (where applicable) to both the plan price and postage charges.
Our NEW 47TH Edition of the Home Plan Catalogue containing over 400 plans is avail-able for $15.50 (includes taxes, postage and han-dling). Make all cheque and money orders pay-able to JENISH HOUSE DESIGN LTD and mail to:

PLAN OF THE WEEKAt YourServiceBUSINESS& SERVICE DIRECTORY
Jane, 43, is a beautiful, sweet girl who is a nurse and looking for the right man. Jane has never been married and has no children. She loves football, hockey, going to concerts, and being outdoors. She is very down to earth, and easy to get along with. Jane does not drink or smoke. She is not one to go to bars, and she has had a hard time meeting the right person in her small community. She is always up to try new things and open to new experiences. Jane is a bit shy at first, and she is nervous about dating, but really wants to meet the right person to settle down
with. She is very open and accepting of people, shes very non-judgmental, and cares more about who someone is on the inside rather than on the outside. She is looking for a good man who is energetic, fun, adventurous, has a good sense of humor, down-to-earth, and a little bit romantic.

Through the TV viewing glassView from the Cheap
Seats is kind of an exten-sion of the newsroom. Whenever our three regular reporters, Calvin Daniels, Thom Barker and Randy Brenzen are in the building together, it is frequently a site of heated debate. This week: Which television show would you most like to be stuck in.
Boring and ok with itAs soon as the sub-
ject of being stuck in a TV show was proposed, I liked it. Then I started actually thinking about it.
The logical place to start was favourite shows. Murdoch Mysteries came to mind, but I am already out of place enough with the social attitudes of the early 21st century, the early 20th century would have me pulling my hair
out.I thought about
M*A*S*H, of course. It would be fun hang-ing with those guys, but would I really want to be stuck in the Korean War. I dont think so.
What about other more benign environ-ments? Cheers, Seinfeld, Frasier? Boston, New York or Seattle in the 1980s/1990s with a quirky bunch of people to pal around with have their appeal, but still arent quite doing it for me.
What about something science-related and chal-lenging like Bones or House or Criminal Minds. Those would be fascin-ating, but Im not really feeling it.
It turns out this topic was a really big chal-
lenge.Ultimately I settled on
Newhart. Again, its got the quirky group of char-acters that would be fun to be around, but mostly it is kind of the lifestyle I eventually see for myself. Living in a pastoral east-ern setting with a laid back way of life not far from some of the greatest cities in the world.
Like Dick Loudon, I can see myself running a little business like a B&B and writing books heading into Montreal or New York City for the occasional getaway. Its not very exciting, I know, but thats kind of where I am and, much to my own surprise, I am okay with that.
Thom Barker
Back to school
Television is something
that pretty much every-one is familiar with, out-side of certain religious groups, of course.
So when the ques-tion of what television show would you like to be stuck in was asked, instantly many different situations were played inside my head.
The first one that instantly came to mind was The Big Bang Theory. Its a solid show and one of my favourites, how-ever I then thought of how annoying not only Sheldon is, but Raj and Howard as well. In the end, if I were stuck in that show, Id eventually be television arrested.
The second show that came to mind is the one that I ultimately decided that Id love to be stuck in.
That show is called Community, and its about a group of adults down
on their luck that are attending a backwards community college.
Its a hilarious, enter-taining and zany show with many different types of characters and its one show that I would abso-lutely love to be a part of.
In fact the only down-fall about being in that show is that Id have to go back to school, which is something Id absolutely hate (although if I could be an instructor in the show then that would be golden).
Randy Brenzen
Beam me up
What television series would I like to be stuck in, if it were reality?
Baywatch ah maybe not.
Really this is one of those ultra-easy what ifs for me.
Beam me up to the Enterprise, preferably the Jean Luc Picard cap-tained version, although I am not fussy on that point, and Id be quite happy.
I say that for more than a single reason.
To start the earth of the Start Trek Next Generation world has become more
than I can currently see this ball of dirt achieving. The countries obviously came together and cre-ated a world of under-standing, tolerance, and cooperation, which in turn took us to the stars where we flourished.
As it sits with a grow-ing population, and finite land resources, religious rifts, widening class issues, and the backlash against science in the face of climate change, we are far from such a future at present.
Then there is the chance to meet aliens.
I have long looked at the night sky and the thousands of stars and believed others have to be out there, so a chance to go to those stars to meet them is compelling.
To be at the cutting edge of exploration of the stars is a fantasy come true.
There is so much to experience in a real-ity based on Gene Roddenburys imagina-tion I cannot resist.
Of course I have one caveat on picking this show; I do not want a red shirt uniform.
Calvin Daniels
