Point of View The “heavens” were intended to be viewed from earth. Earth is place in the perfect place to have constellations. It’s as you are the center of the universe, looking up, observing the story of the Son of God. God gave Enoch the constellation stories to help us remember His Story. He “meted out the heavens with the span” and “stretched out the heavens… as a tent to dwell in.” (Isaiah 40:22, 12) Whenever we look at our heavens, we see a witness of Jesus Christ and the entire gospel plan (Moses 6:63).

What are Constellations?A group of stars that form a pattern associated with a story
Each constellation has one bright star with a significant name and placement
The bright stars were given their name as the focus/purpose of the constellation
The earth is “in” the constellation appearing in the Eastern sky as the sun rises. The constellations correlate with the months.
There are 12 constellations in the Zodiac (Latin meaning path of animals).
Each Zodiac constellation has three other constellations associated with them called decans, totaling 48 constellations in the sky.

The Zodiac Constellations The Zodiac are the twelve constellations the sun, moon and planets pass through during the year. Zodiac means “animal path,” because many of the zodiac constellations are animals. This illustration is their order in the sky and shows their relationship in size to each other.
