12 Lowdown Brass BandChicago’s Lowdown Brass Band is a ten-piece, horn-driven ensemble with strong roots in the New Orleans “Second Line” tradition. A fierce sousaphone sets the foundation for trumpets, trombones and saxophones that intertwine in a cacophony of tight lead lines, spontaneous call-and-response and bombastic brass attacks. While taking a page from the jazz and blues giants of the past, LDB melds modern funk, hip-hop, reggae and pop into a unique new style.

.6340 Delilah DeWylde and

the Lost BoysA long time ago, at the dawn of the Atomic Age, a succession of no-good punks and ill-mannered teenagers took the best of American roots music – hard-partying honky tonk country, searing gutbucket blues and lonesome hillbilly twang – and distilled it into a potent moonshine known as rockabilly. This combustible formula, passed down through the generations, forms the heart of Delilah DeWylde and the Lost Boys.

.9249 The Mainstays

The Mainstays are a funk and soul band from Kalamazoo. Featuring Andrew Schrock, Dutch Conway and Nate Heymoss of Michigan’s funk/dance band Funktion, the band draws heavily from the groovy elements that made Funktion a bonafide dance party, all while crafting dynamic, insightful and almost folk-influenced songs. Half-beast/half-man Paul Bauer behind the drum kit and the downright dirty playing of Tom McRockin Eldred (BMF Band) on keys bring the sound fully together.

Matt GabrielBorn and raised in Grand Rapids, 25-year-old Matt Gabriel has been playing shows on stage for 10 years now. The last fi ve of those years have been spent performing all over the country, from the noisy jazz bars in the deep south of Louisiana to the singer/songwriter coffee shops of Seattle. The progression of his ability to blend inspiring lyrics with paralyzing hooks is an honest blend of folk and blues with a solid rock and roll center.
