Journeys to Space & Back NASA engineer, Marion Riley, visited Rocky Bluff onAugust10wheresheprovidedfirsthandknowledge of the Hubble Telescope spacecraft and its nearly 30 years of missions. As an engineer for Lockheed Martin for 20 years at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Riley served as the Hubble Space Telescope Observatory Development Manager where she oversaw the building and testing of equipment. Teen Volunteers Work Their Magic

Teen volunteers from Braden River and Lakewood Ranch high schools worked with Youth Librarian Chris Culp to put on Braden River Library’s annual puppet show. This year’s Aladdin was Culp’s eighth summer coordinating puppet theatre, an idea she got after watching Monsterpiece Theatre on Sesame Street. The productions, which incorporate music and special effects, always draw a large crowd. “I love doing puppet shows,” said Culp. “I think it teaches kids to use their imagination, and they really become invested in the story.”
