It was over 35 years ago that our family first came down to the Deer Park

and we’ve been coming down ever since. So this lovely hotel to us is not

just a hotel, it’s a love, it’s something that we treasure, we have had so

many happy times here.

That’s why it’s been so great over the last few years to see, under Mark

Godfrey, how the Deer Park has progressed amazingly – wonderful new

Orangery, first tree house in Devon, the Motor house, the Old Squash

Court, the beautiful walled garden… I could go on, but perhaps even more

important than all of that, it’s been great to see how the staff here have

blossomed and give such wonderful service to all the guests. The food

ain’t bad either!

As MGM has written in its entrance to its Hollywood Studios…

“Do it big! Do it right! Give it class!” I think that’s all here at the Deer Park.

A B R I E F H I S TO R Y…One of the last great Devonshire Country Houses, the Deer Park Country House has

seen many changes over its 300 year history.

Originally a squire’s mansion dating back to 1721, the Georgian house was converted

into a Hotel by its current owner, Nigel Wray in 1977.

In late 2016 the multi million pound re development of the country house was

completed with the addition of a beautiful Orangery, luxury thatched tree house,

Motor House and executive detached house.

The Orangery now provides wonderful architectural space and flexible seating

for up to 200 guests. The luxury thatched tree house offers a completely different

experience to that of the main house. Complete with underfloor heating, cosy real

flame wood burner and clad in natural cedar.

The Motor house conference suite contains the most up to date audio visual facilities

currently available and finally the executive house (“Old Squash Court”) provides

seriously high end flexible accommodation for the ultimate 24 hour delegate.

The Deer Park is now considered one of the most unique and exclusive venues in the

South West of England, situated on one of Devon’s most breath taking estates.

Our stunning new Georgian Orangery can accommodate up to 220 delegates theatre style. Perfectly positioned with views overlooking our stunning gardens and flooded with natural daylight the Orangery is the jewel in the crown for large events and conferencing.

With an integrated bar, air recirculation and underfloor heating, the orangery is perfect no matter what the weather provides.

With direct access onto our Italian gardens and our delightful alfresco wood burning oven area, it is the perfect partner for summer staff parties and or larger conferences.

Including state of the art audio visual, 360 degree sound, high speed fibre broadband and changeable colour LED lighting, we think you will agree our Orangery has all the flexibility you could require.

A secluded, exclusive space set away from the main hotel offers the perfect flexible private meeting room.

Completed in late 2016 the Motor house has a formidable armoury of high end technology to assist your boardroom or conference meeting.

Including 4k high definition TV screen, Mac, Ipad and video conferencing as well as cinema sound, meeting spaces have never been so good.

The Motor house also includes air conditioning, 2 WC facilities and 2 separate breakout areas including bar and outside upper decking to take in the views of the estate.

It is also the home of our private classic car collection including some of the finest and rarest cars in the Country (tours can be arranged).

A brand new private facility, situated amongst a canopy of trees in our 80 acre kingdom. Perfect for small / medium conferences but with superior facilities for the perfect meeting.

Bright and airy, our Conservatory is perfect for conferences for up to 60 delegates. Situated overlooking our gorgeous Italian garden with views stretching as far as the Otter Valley, you’re sure to be inspired for your day ahead.

With an integrated audio visual and air conditioning the Conservatory is ideally situated next to the Orangery for a breakout space or for standalone conferencing.

The Conservatory is situated on the ground floor and offers ease of access for wheel chair users and includes an integrated bar and WC facilities.

A flexible space that can easily accommodate boardroom and theatre style set ups or a simple drinks reception area.

Food is at the heart of our Country house. Our Kitchen team are passionate about serving food of supreme quality from light bites to

our coverted 2 Rosette award.

Once the main source of produce for the Squire’s family back in the 13th Century, the Deer Park Country house hotel is proud to be repeating history! with thanks to our garden team and community gardeners the garden is back on track and is producing an abundance of fabulous fresh produce allowing us to to embrace and offer our guests the finest, freshest ingredients, nothing fills us with more glee than serving-up delights that have been picked, poached and conjured from our own green and pleasant grounds.

What we cannot fish, forage or harvest on-site we source locally from fabulous suppliers.

Our fine wine cellar offers an abundance of fantastic wines from vintage to present. The perfect compliment for a delicious dinner.

Our beautiful Loxtons dining room offers award winning cuisine and attentive service. When it comes to fine dining it’s all about choice and flavour. With award winning, head chef, Hadleigh Barrett, a recent addition to the team, the Hotel has recently been awarded a 2 Rosette status and therefore now caters for those looking for the finest cuisine.

No matter what your menu, from finger buffet to five course A la carte, you will enjoy the best of British cuisine with a European twist.

The Deer Park is proud to source its ingredients directly from the estate, whether its eggs from our ducks, honey from our bees, fruit from our walled garden or apple juice from our orchard, wherever possible we will source from our own estate. Freshness is our by-word, and our daily-baked breads, scones and homemade preserves are enough to tempt even the healthiest of delegates after a busy working day.

Part of the original squires mansion the drawing room dates back to its 18 century setting with soft blue hues and floor to ceiling sash windows. The Drawing room is simply marvellous for smaller, intimate private dining for up to 30 guests.

With open views onto our country estate and privacy guaranteed, the Drawing room is our most popular choice for discerning diners.

Take the A30 signposted to Honiton/London. Take the slip road at Patterson Cross signposted Fairmile, Fenny Bridges and Feniton. At the T-junction turn right signposted Fenny Bridges and Fairmile. At the next T-junction turn left, signposted Fenny Bridges. Go through the village of Fenny Bridges under the old iron bridge, under the new bridge and then take the left-hand road to Weston. At the T-junction by the bridge turn right into Weston Village then turn left at Weston Cross to Buckerell. Turn left after approximately 200 yards into the Deer Park drive.
