Ammended Receiver Rug Installation Instructions 1. Correct Orientation of the fire control group. (Pic 1) 2. Using drift punch, remove hammer pin and hammer. (Pic 2) 3. Note correct hammer spring position (Pic 3) 4. Remove pistol grip (Pic 4) 5. Please note: the pistol grip contains the detent spring for the safety selector. (Pic 5) 6. Also note: the safety selector detent located in the lower receiver..please remove. (Pic 6) 7. Remove safety selector. (Pic 7) 8. Using drift punch: remove trigger pin (Pic 8) 9. Please note the orientation of the trigger spring. (Pic 9) 10. Please note the orientation of the trigger, disconnector, and trigger spring. (Pic 10) 11. Correct orientation of the receiver rug under the trigger group. (Pic 11) 12. Correct orientation of the receiver rug in the lower receiver. (Pic 12) 13. Be certain that each leg of the receiver rug is free along the sides of the trigger. (Pic 13) If you “pinch” these legs under the trigger tail during installation, it will not allow the trigger to reset properly, creating a single shot rifle. 14. Re-install safety selector, then safety selector detent. (Pic 14) 15. Re-install the safety selector spring in the pistol grip. (Pic 15) 16. Be certain the safety selector spring fits in the appropriate hole in the lower receiver. (Pic 16) 17. Correct installation of the receiver rug in the lower receiver (Pic 17) 18. Correct hammer spring orientation. (Pic 18) 19 Re-install hammer in lower receiver. (Pic 19) 20. Job complete (Pic 20) Function Check: With the magazine removed; visually and physically inspect the chamber to verify and confirm the rifle is UNLOADED. Place the safety selector in the Safe position. Point the rifle in a safe direction and pull the trigger. Nothing should happen. Place the safety selector in the fire position. Point the rifle in a safe direction. Pull the trigger and hold it to the rear. Do not release the trigger. The hammer should fall. Without releasing the trig- ger, re-cock the hammer using the charging handle. Release the trigger. An audible click should be heard as the disconnector releases the hammer to the sear portion of the trigger. Return the safety selector to the safe position. If the trigger does not function as described above, please contact DPMS Customer Service for additional assistance. The trigger mechanism should operate exactly as it does without the re- ceiver rug installed.
