RANTHAMBORE SCHOOL TRIP.

DPSG Meerut Road conducted a three day school trip to Ranthambore from 07th September, 2019 to 09th September, 2019.

The trip was planned for secondary and senior secondary students, immediately after the half yearly exams. A refreshing change after the grueling exams.

There was a very positive response to the trip. 140 students (92 from senior secondary wing and 48 students from the

secondary wing) went for the trip, accompanied by 13 teachers. We marched from the school at 6 am on 7th September, and reached the same day in the evening by 7 pm. Though the

journey was long, it wasn’t tiring, with the kids and teachers singing songs together throughout. Also the buses were air

conditioned and very comfortable with reclining seats.

We checked in at Ranthambore forest resort, which had extremely comfortable rooms. A group of four girls was placed in each room.

On 8th September, after breakfast, the students were taken to Ranthambore fort in open canters. The journey to the fort was

very scenic, through the jungle. One had to climb to see the fort. Teachers were panting but the children were quite energetic

and reached the top of the fort within no time. We visited the johar kund, and ganesh temple on the top of the fort. We were all back to the resort for lunch.

After lunch, jungle safari was planned. The students were again made to sit in various canters (19 in one canter, with one/two

teachers). Few of them had visited the jungle for the first time. There was a lot of excitement amongst them especially when some animals like sloth bear, nilgai and sambar deer were spotted. The flora and fauna were worth admiring, with the rolling

hills landscape. However, we were not lucky enough to spot a tiger.

We came back by 7 pm. The children were asked to freshen up for the musical night that was planned for them before dinner. They all danced to their heart’s content on the beats of Bollywood songs.

On 9th, the children were woken up early and were taken to the local site-seeing. They were taken to the local market and a

scenic walk, after a quick breakfast. By 11 am, everyone was back to the resort, where the buses were kept ready to depart.

We reached back to school at 12 midnight, as we faced some traffic enroute. The children were handed over safely to the parents, and it was a happy end of a memorable trip.

need to do the same. The excitement of the students was palpable as they made posters, raised slogans for
