HOLIDAY HOME ASSIGNMENTS

CLASS: 3

DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL JORHAT

Dear Parent, 1 June17

Greetings of the season!

As we approach the summer vacations, I on behalf of my seniors and primary school facilitators would like to take this opportunity to wish each of you and your families a most happy, healthy vacation! I hope that you will have a chance to relax and enjoy some special times with your children. As always, I am so proud of how hard they have been working each and every day. One of our schoolwide goals this year is to help our students become stronger readers and writers. The holiday home assignments will further align them towards this goal. We would love to read all about their creative and scholastic pursuits.

The school closes for vacations for students on 4 June 2017 and reopens on 3 July 2017.

Thank you for your understanding, love and co-operation.

Sincerely

.

ACTIVITY 1

Recite and memorize this beautiful poem from your Literature book with proper rhythm and intonation.

If I Knew

If I knew a box where the smiles are kept,

No matter how large the key

Or strong the bolt, I would try so hard,

It would open, I know, for me.

Then, over the land and sea broadcast,

I`d scatter the smiles to play,

That the children`s faces might hold them.

If I knew a box that was large enough,

To hold all the frowns I meet,

I would gather them, everyone,

From nursery, school and street.

Then, folding and holding,I`d pack them in

And turn the monster key,

And hire a giant to drop the box

To the depths of the deep, deep, sea.
