There is high-grade evidence to suggest that virtual reality simulators can support both training and assessment in laparoscopy. The surgeons and registrars in NQ uses the different laparoscopic training video to obtained laparoscopic surgical skills. However, the educational impact of the virtual reality training is not known.2,3

Background To determine the educational value of the training video use for teaching different techniques of laparoscopic surgery to surgeons and registrars in North Queensland, Australia.

Objectives Results & Data Analysis Result Of Factor Analysis is Used from Likert using global score; Overall I learnt useful skill during this

video training Overall I gained useful knowledge during

the video training Overall I became better at problem

solving during the video training My surgical skills improve during the

video training I feel more confident in my laparoscopic

skills Limited space question would were

analysis . The information collected

would be collated and analyzed using the Epi 6.0 statistical program.

Validity would be determined by factor analysis and correlation with global ratings of attachments

Knowledge and attitudes of North Queensland surgeons and registrars around the different techniques for

teaching laparoscopic surgery.

The design for this project is a simple descriptive study (using a survey and interviews) of surgeons and registrars from the private system (Mater hospital) about their knowledge and attitude toward a laparoscopic training video.

Study design

Setting & participants

The participants would beselected by purposive sampling ; 100 general surgeons and

registrars in North Queensland Already undertaken training in

basic laparoscopic techniques in years and had used video training

Completed surgical operations up to 60 cases or 100 over two years period

performing various Laparoscopic surgical procedures

Data collection Head surgical unit contact & HR Approval of the ethic committee Questionnaire e-mail Explanation of the consent

process Introduction meeting at a clinical

meeting participant interview

QuestionnairesThe survey will address the surgeon's demographic questions To derive information relating to age , gender, completion of

previous Surgical residency training and video training. Questions requiring: categorical responses, Likert scale

responses Qualitative approach to explore the views and experiences of

surgeons and registrar about the various training videos

Data Collection

The result will provide a feedback on the validity of the training video there is a positive score of attitude and knowledge means the video having a positive impact ( educational value) from the global score assement which is use to show all factors and their correlation with overall view of training video, supporting construct validity Out come ; reduce mortality rate.
