Vision

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering is envisioned to have global excellence

in teaching IT and moulding the overall personality of graduates through an expertise

teaching and research environment.

Mission

To impart technical knowledge and skills systematically in various fields of Computer Science & Engineering so as to equip students for IT industry and/or pursue higher studies.

To actively associate with IT industry, networked institutes and social groups, so as to serve the mankind, and progress in research work with exchange of ideas and needs.

Program Educational Objectives

The Computer Science & Engineering faculty in conjunction with their constituents has established the following program educational objectives for each of its students which addresses the following “What do our graduates obtain” “What values/knowledge our graduates will have” “What would be the skill set our graduates possess for choosing their future career”

Therefore, the Program Educational Objectives are,

PEO1: To facilitate graduates to acquire the principles of Computer Engineering,

Mathematics and Science so as to analyze real-world problems and Propose solutions that

are economically feasible and socially acceptable.

PEO2: To imbibe students the knowledge with respect to architectural viewpoints,

programming skills, modeling and designing software solutions, and make them technically

competent to compete globally with confidence.

PEO3: To output graduates who exhibit's teamwork with professional ethics, effective

communication skills and adapt to current trends to work in IT environment and/or pursue

higher education.

Program Specific Outcomes

PSO1 To achieve technical excellence by rigorous analysis of engineering, scientific and mathematical formulations and apply the knowledge for advancing the broad area of computer science and engineering.

Page 4: Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology, Bangalore 560 056

PSO2 To bring forth the creative zeal and work efficiently in designing the solution to various software and hardware problems by using state of the art tools. PSO3 To assimilate professional ethics, managerial skills and to officiate effectively as a leader in a team to manage diverse projects.

Program Objectives

Engineering graduates will be able to:

1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, Science, engineering

fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review, research, literature, and analyze complex

engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics,

natural sciences, and engineering sciences

3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design

system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for

the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal and environmental considerations.

4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research based knowledge and research

methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the

information to provide valid conclusions.

5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern

engineering and IT tools including predication and modeling to complex engineering activities with

an understanding of the limitations.

6. The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess

societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the

professional engineering practice.

7. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions

in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for

sustainable developments.

8. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms

of the engineering practice.

9. Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in

diverse teams, and in multi-disciplinary settings.

10. Communications: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with engineering

community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports

and design documentations, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions

11. Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the

engineering and management principles and apply these two one‘s own work, as a member and

leader in a team, to manage projects and in multi-disciplinary environments.
