Registration Guidelines
The institutes and workshops listed in this catalog are open to BCS teachers who are under a current contract at the time the course is offered.
Retired teachers or teachers from outside of the BCS district may NOT attend the summer institutes.
If an institute has reached the maximum enrollment, currently contracted employees can be placed on the waitlist. A 15 minute grace period will be granted to pre-registered participants, after which waitlisted participants will be allowed to participate.
If you register for an INVITATION ONLY institute without being invited, you will be removed from a class roster without notification.
Please check your STIpd account prior to attending the workshop to verify your status.
Pre-registration Procedures
STIpd is the online tracking system that is used to track professional development.
Please update your STIpd account with an email address that you will be checking for course updates and cancellations @pdweb.alsde.edu
Registering for workshops/institutes
Registration on STIpd is required prior to attending any professional development event.
Registering for courses helps the Office of Professional Development and the facilitators of the courses plan materials and activities based on the registration records. If you do not register for a course prior to attending, you may be asked to leave if the course is full or additional resources/materials are not available.
It is imperative that you unregister for courses as soon as you know you are unable to
attend as there may be a waitlist for the course.
Please check the class description under “Special Instructions” to see if there are any
materials you are required to bring for the class or special instructions, such as a
prerequisite for the workshop. This will also indicate a specific meeting room if one has
been secured prior to the class.
During Workshop Procedures
In order for everyone to have a pleasant and productive learning opportunity, it is important
that each participant follows simple guidelines or norms. The following norms have been
developed by the Professional Development Committee and will be reviewed by the facilitator
at the start of each session.
A positive, respectful climate enhances the learning opportunities for everyone!
Hold ourselves personally accountable by being on time, respectful, and an active
participant
Trust, respect, and support one another
Post our personal concerns/questions on the parking lot or speak privately with the
facilitator
Use technology to enhance learning
Refrain from texting and silence cell phones
You are responsible for bringing your own snacks and drinks to classes as none will be
provided.
Attendance Policy
In order to get credit or a stipend for attending a course, you must attend the entire
session. It will be your responsibility to sign the Record of Attendance each morning and
afternoon to verify your attendance.
If you find it necessary to miss more than one hour for each day of a session, you may
