She previously taught middle school band and elementary music and teaches private flute lessons. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Hardin- Simmons University in Abilene, Texas and Master of Arts in Flute Pedagogy from Texas Woman’s University. Dr. Jane Andrews is Assistant Choir Director at Mansfield High School in Mansfield, Texas. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Centenary College, Shreveport, Louisiana and received her Master of Music in piano and a Doctor of Musical Arts in piano from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Monica Czausz, organist Sunday, April 24, 2016, 7:00 pm Monica Czausz is a fourth-year student of Ken Cowan at Rice University in Houston, Texas, where she is pursuing her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Organ Performance. Monica is the newly-appointed Cathedral Organist at Christ Church Cathedral, Houston. An increasingly sought- after performer, she was the winner of the 2015 American Guild of Organists/Quimby Southwest Regional Competition for Young Organists. She was also featured at the 2015 National Convention of the Organ Historical Society and will be performing at the 2016 National Convention of the American Guild of Organists. This concert is co-sponsored by the Fort Worth American Guild of Organists. Fort Worth Choral Society Tuesday, September 15, 2015, 7:30 pm Fort Worth Choral Society Dr. Michael Cox, conductor Swang Lin, violin and Tracy Carroll, piano Join Broadway in welcoming the Fort Worth Choral Society as the Baroque Ensemble presents a free concert featuring Life by Michael Cox, Dies Irae by Randall Stroope, and Gypsy Songs, Op. 103 by Johannes Brahms. Paul Jacobs, organist Sunday, September 20, 2015, 7:00 pm The first and only organist to win a Grammy Award, Mr. Jacobs combines intellect and technical skills with a repertoire that spans the gamut of organ music. He studied at the Curtis Institute of Music, double- majoring with John Weaver for the organ and Lionel Party for the harpsichord, and at Yale University with Thomas Murray. He joined the faculty of The Juilliard School in 2003, and was named chairman of the organ department in 2004. This concert is co-sponsored by the Fort Worth American Guild of Organists. Founded in 2008, the Fort Worth Choral Society is comprised of accomplished singers and patterned after the chamber choir tradition. Elisabeth Adkins, violin and Edward Newman, piano Sunday, February 28, 2016, 4:00 pm After 31 years as Associate Concertmaster of the National Symphony in Washington, D.C., Elisabeth Adkins joined the faculty of Texas Christian University in the fall of 2014. As Professor of Violin at TCU, she will continue her orchestral career this season as Concertmaster of the Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra. As the solo violinist of the 20th Century Consort, Ms. Adkins is a noted interpreter of the contemporary repertoire. She performs in concert with her husband, pianist Edward Newman; the duo has presented concerts at the Kennedy Center and the National Gallery, and was featured as the inaugural program of public radio’s Front Row Washington. The Adkins/ Newman Duo make their area debut in October 2015 at TCU. Travis, Organist The Festival Brass Paul Ferington, hailed as a “distinguished Guest Conductor” by The Buffalo News and a “local musical treasure” by Artvoice, completed his 30th year as a member of the Conducting Staff of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. During this time, he conducted this Grammy Award winning Orchestra in over 475 concerts at over 65 locations. A graduate in Orchestral Conducting from the College- Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati, he was a conducting student of Robert Shaw, Erich Kunzel, and Thomas Schippers. Recognized as a lifelong church musician, he has been a church organist and music director at numerous churches throughout his career, including 21 years as Music Director/Organist at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church of Lockport NY.
