Welcome to a brand-new season of exquisite choral music performance with the Choral Artists of Sarasota. Having been squirreled away in seclusion for the better part of last season, we are prepared to return to live and in-person concerts, lifting us all up to new flights of musical fancy.

We invite you to join us on our journey and be Carried Away! Each concert this season is a veritable feast for the senses, a kaleidoscope of musical experiences to be savored.

We thank each and every one of you who remained loyal over the past year and a half. Your expressions of concern for our singers and encouragement regarding our programs inspired us to renew our determination to present performances that nurture, entertain and comfort us all. It’s been an incredible year and I am so heartened by the kindness, love, and support that has come as a result of the pandemic. We are a community and we genuinely care for each other.

The combination of voices united in song is one of the most expressive forms of music-making, one which human beings have enjoyed for millennia. In continuing our innovative programming over the past decade, I have designed six performances that highlight the vocal strengths of our singers and have engaged national soloists to round out the musical experience.

On The Town Sun, Nov 7 • 7pm • Riverview Performing Arts CenterBristling with effervescent energy and humor, Leonard Bernstein’s On The Town is one of the finest musicals ever written. Three sailors take New York City by storm! A star cast of soloists and the Choral Artists singers present a concert version of this iconic Bernstein musical.

What Sweeter Music Sun, Dec 19 • 5pm • Church of the RedeemerThe holidays will resound with spectacular brass, organ, and choral arrangements of Christmas classics including Hark! the Herald Angels Sing, Joy to the World, Hallelujah Chorus, and a snazzy arrangement by the Canadian Brass of Twelve Days of Christmas.

A Night at the Opera Sun, Feb 20 • 5pm • Church of the PalmsGrand Passion and scintillating intrigue! The husband and wife team of Adelaide Boedecker and Calvin Griffin will sing duets from Don Pasquale, Elixir of Love, Don Giovanni, and Marriage of Figaro, along with solo arias and choruses with the Choral Artists’ singers. Even the Phantom of the Opera might make an appearance!

GalaSat, Mar 26 • 6pm • Casey Key Residence Join us for a magical evening at a very special Casey Key residence. Enjoy cocktails at sunset, musical entertainment, and an inspired feast in an enchanting setting!

She Is the Music Sun, Mar 20 • 2:30pm • First Presbyterian Church Female composers throughout history take the stage front and center. Celebrate Women’s History Month with this unique program devoted solely to works by female composers. Mozart, Mendelssohn, Schumann, Hildegard von Bingen and many others are featured in this program with Thea Lobo, mezzo-soprano.

Listen to the Earth *See additional events Sun, Apr 24 • 5pm • Sarasota Opera House The Earth is speaking loud and clear. Choral Artists celebrates Earth Day with a world premiere of a spectacular new work by James Grant, featuring baritone soloist Marcus DeLoach, Sarasota Young Voices and the Choral Artists singers.

American Fanfare Mon, Jul 4 • 4:30pm • Sarasota Opera HouseCelebrate America with choral fireworks, rousing marches and patriotic fervor. Old Glory and Uncle Sam are feted in this annual performance featuring the Lakewood Ranch Wind Ensemble and Choral Artists of Sarasota. Musical fireworks abound in this annual salute to America.
