STATEMENT
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumias End of Ramadan Message
Greetings,
I wish to extend my best wishes to all Muslims at home and across the world, at the end of
this sacred month of Ramadan and as we celebrate Eid ul-Fitr. I extend same to non-
Muslims alike who have also been of tremendous support in various ways during the
month.
For the entire month of Ramadan, we fasted, restrained ourselves from physical pleasures
of life, studied and recited the Holy Quran, in our quest to receive endless blessings from
our Maker. We offered prayers for forgiveness and guidance and shared with the needy.
Ramadan is always a period that helps inculcate values of personal discipline, patience,
sacrifice for the good of ourselves and the larger population, giving and compassion. It is a
month for deep reflection on our actions in relation to what Allah and society expects of us.
I have no doubt that there has been great spiritual renewal.
On this important day, as we mark the end of this sacred month, it is time to be glad since
we know and believe that Allah would fulfill our hopes and grant us the blessings wesought from Him during this Holy month.
I hope and pray that the sacrifices and the spiritual engagements we have had with our
Maker would be bountifully rewarded in all our years on earth and will, overall, contribute
to the development and progress of our communities and nation, Ghana.
Once again, it is my prayer that the end of Ramadan will not be the end of our commitment
to the supreme virtues of good neighborliness, tolerance, generosity and working for the
greater good of the community.
Happy Eid ul-Fitr
