"THE GLOBAL BURDEN OF DISEASE"

• An international study, entitled "The Global Burden of Disease," reported that 2.3 billion people suffered from five or more health problems in 2013. That is almost one-third of the world's population. Even more disturbing, the study also found that as life expectancy increases – it is now an average of 71 years worldwide – the more simultaneous health problems people tend to suffer.

RESULTS• Of the people who suffered from five or more ailments, more than 80 percent of were actually younger

than 65 years old, the study's authors reported. On top of that, from 1990 to 2013, there was a 52 percent increase in the number of people in developed countries who suffered from 10 or more ailments.

• The study shows that around the world the most common ailments include hearing loss, low back pain, and diabetes and iron-deficiency anemia. These each affect more than 400 million people.

MASTER HEALER PANKAJ NARAM• He is concerned that most people do not realize how interconnected each area of their physical, mental and

emotional health are. He teaches that when one thing goes out of balance, it influences other things as well. And when you bring one thing back into balance, it simultaneously helps other areas as well.

• While the authors of the study admit these figures are only approximate, Master Healer Pankaj Naram believes they provide evidence of a need for more complete physical and mental care, through methods such as Siddha-Veda.
