Tech, PhD (Tech), SMIEEE, FIE, FIETE Professor and Head Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Jadavpur University E-mail: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] Prof. Subir Kumar Sarkar received his B.Tech, M.Tech and PhD Degrees from the Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics, University of Calcutta, India and Post doctoral fellow from the Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Virginia Commonwealth University, USA. He served as an Executive Engineer in Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), A Govt. of India Enterprises, for about 10 years before joining the teaching profession. He has been serving at different faculty positions in Bengal Engineering and Science University and Jadavpur University since 1992.Presently he is a Professor and Head, Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India. He has published 4 Engineering text books and few are in pipeline. He has published more than 440 technical research papers in archival International/ National journals and peer – reviewed conferences in the field of Devices, Mobile ad hoc and Sensor Networks, Digital watermarking, RFID and its Applications. He has filed one Indian Patent vide file No: 669/KOL/2013,dated 5 th June,2013.To date, 31 scholars have been awarded PhD (Engg.) degrees under his guidance and 2 more have submitted their theses leading to PhD. He has completed/ongoing 14 R&D projects as sole Investigator and 3 as Co- Investigator sponsored by different Govt. of India funding agencies. His most recent research focuses are in the areas of nanodevices and low power VLSI circuits, Ad- hoc Networks, Wireless Sensor Networks, Mobile Communications, RFID and its Applications and Digital Watermarking and Data security. He is a Senior Member of IEEE, Life fellow of IE (India), Life fellow of IETE, Life member of ISTE and Life member of Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS). Prof. Subir Kumar Sarkar received his B.Tech, M.Tech and PhD Degrees from the Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics, University of Calcutta, India and Post doctoral fellow from the Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Virginia Commonwealth University, USA. Invited talk titled “Single electron devices: Past and Future” was delivered by Dr. Subir Kumar Sarkar in the Dept. of Electrical Engineering, Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Virginia, on 5th Sept. 2005.

Dr. Subir Kumar Sarkar was invited as post-doctoral research scholar in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Virginia Commonwealth University to work on quantum computing, spintronics, quantum dot memory and electronic transport in nanostructures.

Visited Shizuaka University, Shizuaka, Japan to get acquainted with MOCVD fabrication technology for GaN Semiconducting materials.in September 1997.

3 months in Paris, France in a company SAMEGA SA, as trainee Engineer 1984-85. Worked as service and maintenance Engineer for On –Line sophisticated electronic control system used in OIL field Exploration job. Also development of software packages for OIL FIELD related work.

Grace the inaugural function of the TEQIP sponsored FDP on Advances in Electronics and Communication( AEC) as Guest Of Honour.

I was honoured as chairman in the International Conference on Information and Communication Technology in Electrical Sciences (ICTES 2007) held at Dr.M.G.R.University, Maduravoyal, Chennai, India, during December 20-22, 2007.

In the National Seminar on VLSI Technology and Embedded design held during 17-18th February 2007 at C.V. Raman College of Engineering, Bhubaneswar. I was honoured as chief guest in the seminar.
