Short CV of Vivek Kute • India

Vivek Kute is Associate Professor of Nephrology and Transplantation at Institute of Kidney Diseases and

Research Center and Dr. HL Trivedi Institute of Transplantation Sciences, Ahmedabad, a center doing

largest number of kidney transplants with 4700 kidney transplants on file. He was awarded Gujarat

University gold medal for nephrology and Fellowship of American Society of Nephrology for his

academic excellence.

He has received various awards for his major contributions in the field of transplantation, including

international transplantation science Young Investigator award 2012, international transplantation

science Mentee-Mentor award 2016 by the transplantation society (TTS), Young Investigator award ,

Bansal oration and Janseen-Cilag award by Indian society of nephrology , and Udupa Memorial lecture

2015 by ISOT. He is a mentor for Young Nephrologist mentoring program for international society of

nephrology.

He has published over 100 papers in national and international peer reviewed journals and made oral

presentations in various national and international conferences (ISOT, TTS, ATC, CTS,WCN, ISN, and

ISHD). Under mentor-ship of Prof HL Trivedi, his research involves expanding donor pool with kidney-

paired donation transplantation.

1. CYP3A5 polymorphism affecting tacrolimus based immunosuppression in Indian renal

allograft recipients: The study is undertaken to assess the potential influence of a

functional polymorphism in CYP3A5*3 gene on dose requirements and trough blood

levels of tacrolimus in RTx patients.

2. Community screening for kidney disease. we have completed screening for 3000 healthy

population and detected 35% abnormality[ hypertension , diabetes, proteinuria, impaired

creatinine, etc]
