Principal: Ms. Lee Ann Stacey Vice Principal: Mr. Guy Aucoin Administrative Assistants:: Mrs. Brenda MacLean & Mrs. Vicki Choisnet Dear Parent/Guardian(s): Welcome back and Happy New Year! I hope everyone enjoyed a well-deserved break and you were able to take time for those things you enjoy. Although it seems early, it is this time of year we start to plan for our new Primary students who will be coming to school in Septem- ber. Students must turn five before December 31, 2020 in order to register for the upcoming school year. Also, if you know of anyone who has a child, who would not receive our newsletter, please let them know as well. An important date to remember is our Primary registration day on March 10. You will be given an appointment time for that date when you call the office. Early registration is very important because staffing for the next year’s classes is made with these numbers in mind. I would also like to remind parents that all students are outside at lunch time for approximately twenty minutes thus it is very im- portant that all students are properly dressed for the cold winter weather. Students should wear snowsuits or snow pants, winter boots, mitts or gloves, hats and scarves. A change of clothes that could be left at school is also appreciated. I wish you all a happy and healthy 2020 and, as always, please call or visit the school should you have any concerns! Lee Ann Stacey Principal IMPORTANT DATES Dr. W.A. Dr. W. A. MacLeod 2019-2020 Championship Coyote's

The Dr. W. A. MacLeod Coyote's made school history this past month. For the first time ever at DWAM boys volleyball was added to athletics. Having a fantastic first season, the boys walked away with both the District & Regional Championship. Defeating New Glasgow Academy in District qualifiers, the Coyote's were ranked 1st going into Regionals. Defeating both NGA and St. Andrew's in round robin play, the Coyote's faced New Glasgow again in the final. The boys defeated NGA 25-23 & 25-20 to secure the championship in two sets.

The boys were fantastic representatives for DWAM and

played absolutely amazing.

Fall Sports

The Coyote’s had an amazing fall season in Athletics. DWAM was able to send both a boys & girls golf team to regionals with our boys team winning silver! DWAM was very excited to announce the addition of a boys volleyball team this 2019 season, the first boys volleyball team in school history. Boys volleyball defeat-ed the New Glasgow Academy Panthers to earn the title of 2019-2020 District Champions. In Regional Quali-fiers, the boys had an outstanding showing defeating New Glasgow and St. Andrew’s. The Coyote’s are the 2019-2020 Regional Champions! Girls volleyball dominated the volleyball league and placed 3rd out of the 7 teams in Districts. Our X-country team also had a fantastic run, pun intended, with all of our runners doing great. A big congratulations to Sidney Keay for making it to Provincials! Boys & girls soccer were great repre-

sentatives for DWAM doing very well in league play.

A big thank you to all of our coaches, parents, and volunteers, we couldn’t do it without you! DWAM is

looking forward to our 2019/2020 winter & spring sports as DWAM Athletics is already off to a stellar start.

Keep up the great work Coyotes!
