SESSION #1 -- Effective Advocacy and District Promotion Crown Presentations on telling our story in a manner that makes the public and public officials understand the roles of the Soil and Water Conservation Districts
SESSION # 2 -- 2018 Executive Committee Orientation Royal A
Myles Payne, Association 1st Vice President, Facilitator Are you an incoming 2019 Area Chair or a member of the 2018 Executive Committee who will continue serving in 2019? If so, this session is specifically designed with you in mind. You will leave the session better informed about specific duties and responsibilities for the upcoming year. There will be plenty of time for dialogue with incoming president, Myles Payne, regarding goals and expectations for 2019. Whether you’re a first time member of the Executive Committee or a veteran, this session is a must for getting you prepared for your role.
SESSION #3 – District Legal Issues Bull Durham This session will focus on legal issues the Districts may face; such as Public Records Request and protected customer information.
SESSION #4 – SWCD Strategic Visioning Empire AB This session will review the Strategic Visioning efforts this past year and assist in finalizing the plan document.
SESSION #5 -- Working with Non-Traditional Partners Imperial V This session will highlight some new partners that Districts have an opportunity to assist; such as small farmers, organic growers and CSAs.
SESSION #6 – Educational Outreach – Mobile Soils Classroom Royal B
Come learn how to use this resource that is available to every soil and water conservation district. The Mobile Soils Classroom trailer project began in 2013 after funds from the Monsanto seed auction at the Annual Meeting were allocated to the project. Several SWC Foundation grants and other contributions later the project has grown to four equipped trailers, three large rainfall simulators, four Enviroscapes, and a large groundwater model for districts to check out and use for outreach with school and adult field days. This session will involve training on the most frequently used lessons in the equipped Mobile Soils Classroom trailers.
SESSION #7 – Community Conservation Imperial VI,VII Division staff will review the regional application process and discuss other community conservation opportunities.
SESSION #8 – Top Technology Enhancements for Districts Imperial IV This session will highlight newer technology being used by Districts across our state.
