I. Inter Branch – Independence Day & National Sports Day Competitions -2015

Dr.B.R.Ambedkar University-Srikakulam, celebrates Independence Day & National Sports Day (Sri Dhyanchand Jayanthi) every year which includes sports and games in it. The Department of Physical Education, organized Inter branch matches on 3rd and 4th August 2015 among the campus students to cultivate the sports cultural and improve interaction between senior and junior students. The University’s 18 departments pertaining to Arts & Science with strength of 800 students had taken part in the event and made it successful one. On National Sports Day – 29th August, an eminent sports personality of the district was invited as chief guest and felicitated as a token of gratitude for contribution towards sports & games. The final match was played in the presence of the dignitaries. All India and South Zone Certificates (participation & merit) were distributed to players by the Hon’ble Vice

Chancellor and Chief Guest. Academic Sports calendar was discussed with the students by the Physical Director

II. Inter Collegiate Sports & Games Competitions -2015-2016

Archery (M & W): Archery is one of the prominent games in Srikakulam District. Dr.B.R.Ambedkar University -Srikakulam encourages its students to learn the sport by conducting coaching camps on a regular basis for the interested. In this regard, Archery (M&W) was conducted in the Intercollegiate on 21st and 22nd September 2015. The chief guests for the inauguration were Mr.Sunder Rao garu District Olympic Association Secretary, Mr.B.Srinivas Kumar gaur District Sports Authority, Archery association secretary. Our Vice Chancellor and Registrar were the In-house guests. There were 30 participants altogether. The name of the style was INDIAN CURVE STYLE. Kho-Kho (M&W) Kho-Kho is one of the most popular traditional tag games in the Indian subcontinent. It has the same significance in Srikakulam District too. Dr.B.R.Ambedkar University-Srikakulam encourages its students to learn the sport by conducting coaching camps for the interested. In this regard, Kho-Kho (M&W) was conducted in the Intercollegiate on 28th and 29th September 2015. The University’s 18 departments pertaining to Arts & Science with strength of 800 students had taken part in the events of their interest and made it successful one. “Faculty sports” is an added delight in Republic day

ANNUAL SPORTS MEET REPORT 2015-2016

Annual Day is an important event that celebrates the beginning of a new year and the bidding farewell to the previous academic year in a celebration of felicitation, feast and festivity. Annual Day forms an integral part of University’s activities. This wonderful event is celebrated to showcase its achievements. It is an occasion of celebration, when students present not only their wonderful performances but also receive honours for their curricular and co-curricular achievements. Dr. B.R.Ambedkar University celebrated its 8th Annual Day with unprecedented fanfare on 10th day of April, 2016 at the kalapranganam premises of the campus at 6.00 pm. The campus was decorated elegantly. A grand stage had been set up with professional sound system.

Prof. H. Lajipathi Rai, Hon.ble Vice-Chancellor , Dr. B.R.Ambedkar University had been invited as the chief guest. Guest of Honour was Prof.M.Chandraiah, Rector, Dr. B.R.Ambedkar University. They were given a floral welcome. There were three distinguished guests Prof.P.Chiranjeevulu, Prof .T.KamaRaju and Prof.B.Addai also invited. All the guests have inaugurated the programme.

The talented students presented mesmerizing cultural events such as dances, plays, magic show, and many more. Prof. G.Tulasi Rao, the Principal & convenor has presided the 8th Annual Day Celebrations and made the audience aware of the university’s achievements in academics and co-curricular arenas.

Prizes were given away to the toppers and other students who had brought laurels to the Dr. B.R.Ambedkar University in various competitions and contests. Addressing on the occasion Prof. H. Lajipathi Rai, Hon.Vice-Chancellor , Dr. B.R.Ambedkar University ,lauded and praised the students for raising the educational standard in the University. At the end Prof. G.Tulasi Rao, the Principal & convenor has thanked the chief-guest, dignitaries, and parents for having spared their time to attend the function; he also thanked students, teaching staff , and all others who have contributed their best in organizing the event successfully.

Summer Coaching Camp

Dr.B.R.Ambedkar University in association with District Sports Authority (DSA) organizes Summer Coaching Camp in the University campus. The camp starts from May 1st and lasts about a month i.e. until 31st May. The Summer Coaching Camp is open to all age group students. Coaches from DSA gave coaching to the students pertaining to their individual game. The camp happens to take place in the morning sessions 6.00am to 8.00am. This camp is organized with a moto “Quality Sports to All Students”.
